[Interjection Games] Changing Gears

For the 2d6+3 of you who may care, I had been able to keep myself afloat by doing freelance writing for content mills for the past few months. The hours were horrible, the clients rude, and the pay miserable, but it worked because of my ability to produce when motivated. Still, their disparaging attitudes and my pride clashed something awful. I ended up having a choice: cooperate with a rude client who had already cost me the equivalent of $1400 for a $180 assignment or be "terminated".

I quit.

The end result of this is I'm just now pulling out of a two week slump of absolute uselessness and need to focus what little motivation I can presently muster into tearing down this apartment and unhooking utilities. On the 19th of October, I'll be moving back in with the parents and assisting my father with his "picker" business, as well as putting my primary focus back into Interjection Games, as it was back in March-June.

I'm hoping that those who have decided they like my work will forgive me for the past couple of months. The content mills were a disproportionately harsh mistress for the miserable pay they provided and I would have been better off focusing on growing this little business of mine the entire time. In fact, with the growth rate I was experiencing, I could have fought it out and kept this apartment. Live and learn.

As it is, Interjection Games is already large enough to stabilize my finances in this new metagame once I'm situated, which means growth will be able to feed back into the beast to press into other markets and grow the business more quickly. In the coming months, I hope to be able to produce several large products monthly: adventures, new base classes with my signature back-end complexity and comparative front-end simplicity, loot and gear systems, etc., while still pushing into new markets with card games like Hands Off Me Booty!, Indecision in Washington, Kobolds: Quest for Shinies, and Kaleidomatch. Further, back in July, a very nice fellow who will only be named if he wants to be named actually purchased two years of web hosting for interjectiongames.com, set up everything, and got it passed it off to me a few weeks ago. I'll be looking into doing something with that, too.

In short, just bear with me for a few more weeks and I'll be happy to start supplying you all with crazy ideas on a full time basis. In order to apologize for this delay, Super Mega Ultra Mecha Fighting For You, Me, and All of Our Friends will be a FREE tinker expansion when released, but I'll probably do something silly with it like hide an RPGnow.com coupon code on my website. Thank you for your continuing support!

Hang in there and best wishes!

Being well aware of how hard it can be to make ends meet from freelancing, I wish you good luck with your projects!

Hang in there! There always are better days to come!

Best of luck and a quick return!
