My GM and I are having a significant disagreement over "Blind Fight". I have no problem agreeing on its literal interpretation in melee on the ground. '
My GM Is essentially saying that "Blind Fight" negates any spell-related blindness.
Does that make sense to anyone here?
My game tonight - my party faced a CR 9 monk with blind fight. One of the casters successfully hit him with blindness, which (to me) should have been game over. My GM ruled that since he had blind fight, he could ignore the blindness. In ground combat, this wouldn't bother me. But my character's a caster with levitate. While a sighted monk could use a qi point to enable him to get a +20 foot maximum jump height (and thusly attack me while levitated at 30 feet), my GM acted as if a blind monk should be able to do the same thing.

Blind Fight allows a character to ignore the penalty of losing Dex to AC for being blind, discount the +2 an invisible attacker gets on melee attacks (but not ranged attacks), and doesn't need to make an Acrobatics check to move at full speed.
But if you're blind, your attackers are all still invisible (barring other sense abilities). You can attack a square where you think the enemy is, but still suffer the miss chance (which Blind Fight allows you to reroll once).
So, a blind monk can jump and hit your levitating caster, but would have to locate you first (which may or may not be particularly difficult) and would still have to roll the miss chance for concealment because you are invisible to him (with a reroll if the first misses). The blindness can't simply be ignored, though.

If you were casting though -assuming you weren't casting silently- a perception check to pinpoint you should be no prob. So long as he suffers the miss chance (which he can reroll) then it seems legit to me.
There is no difference between "spell-related" blindness and blindness from another source, such as Dirty Trick, or having no eyes. Blindness is blindness. Blind-fight helps get around the penalties.

Blind-Fight, pound for pound one of the best basic feats a character can pick.
It would work just like fretgod99 and awp832 said it would. If the monk made his perception check (what that is can be debated), then he can jump up and try and hit you with the miss chance.
As for what the Perception check should be, when I DM I call it "sounds of battle" -10 and add the +20 since you are effectively invisible and the +2 for unfavorable conditions plus any distance and barrier modifiers. So if you were 30 feet up and not trying to be stealthy, then I would have him roll a DC 15 Perception to try and pinpoint your square. That is assuming that you were moving and casting as you might expect a caster to do in a normal combat. If you were trying to be stealthy and not move, then the modifiers change dramatically.
