New Player

Pathfinder Society

I am a new Pathfinder Society player. Started up 8AM Friday at GenCon and got 8 Sessions in(the most I could have). I am now trying to register my character, my first Session was sort of a fluke, I was looking where to make a character so I could try it out, and a table invited me to play with them with a premade(I didn't have any materials yet so it was much more than I could have hoped for). So I played, I got a pathfinder Society ID and quickly made me a character so I could play with it. Throughout all the games and the 5+ miles to the hotel and whatnot I never registered the character until now. It is proving to be quite a bit of touble and it is only registering 2 of my games, I feel like this may be because I didn't know what a faction was the first game or two and just marked what most the other people marked thinking it was the game we were playing.

... I have all my session sheets... What do I do/Who do I talk to?

Sorry for all the random useless information, but if you guys need more I will give you all the whole spiel.

1) Hello and welcome to the institution.

2) BREATHE. :)

3) Don't worry about it.

A) its only tuesday after gen con. People are still arriving home, washing off con crud, and catching up on missing sleep. They'll get cracking reporting sessions soon.

B) The chronicle sheets (little pieces of paper) are the official record for your character, so even if its never reported you're still fine.

First of all, welcome to Pathfinder Society! Thanks for playing.

Regarding only 2 of your 5 games registered so far: It may just be that all of the games are not registered on the site yet. Give it a few days an they will hopefully show up. If not then you can contact your local VC about getting the games registered. Contact info for all regional coordinators is listed in the Guide to Organized Play.

However you have the paper chronicles which is the official record for your character.

Edit: ninja'd

Welcome, glad you had fun. Now you just need to find local games to play. :-)

Nothing else to add.

Sweet! Thank you guys. I plan on driving down there and playing with them soon and getting games going in my area hopefully. (they are about an hour away)

Well, a few of my games also had issues and I feel public is not the proper place for(I know how to handle some of it though ^_^).

Thanks for all your assistance, that was a much quicker response than I expected!

If only more players had your attitude, these forums would be a much nicer place. :D Welcome to the Society!

What area do you live in? Someone might know of a closer game.

Thanks for the welcome :) That breathe was good advice. XD
I am waiting for issues to resolve before continuing to play my character, and I am fairly sure the Session has to be posted prior to resolution. I am wanting to get over to west STL and meet my fellow local Pathfinders. But it is a bit far to drive and I don't have/don't know know enough to really build another character. Ranger is the only one I have any real experience with knowing how to play and a fair amount of rules regarding. I know I will need to expand that knowledge But I want to play a few games with him first.

Rusty Ironpants:
Thank you :) We all get ninja'd at times ^_^

Todd Lower:
Yes! I do. Thank you ^_^

Eric Clingenpeel:
It is the internet. Forums will be forums. There is no reason to air issues publicly when they can be resolved privately. All it does is make a lot of pissed off people. And most people want to play proper, some just don't know the guidelines. No reason to burn someone for that.

Preston Hudson:
Thank you :)

Just east of STL in Shiloh, IL. I talked to my areas Venture Captain, it seems some closer games to me may be starting up soon. ^_^

I have a buddy I went to GenCon with, he played 5 games. And we have 1 more I think we might be able to get into weekly games with us. So all we need is at least 2 more to play. Or 4-5 more(7-8 people total) for a consistent weekly game.

Once I get a few games in me I wouldn't mind being a GM for Sessions I have already played through(and I need to learn to GM before hand). So I may just go play with them for two months or so then try hosting a few games over here and seeing if anyone shows up or something.

I know the feeling. I'm in Fairview and can't make it accross the river to play in the PFS games over there. By chance did either you or your buddy play Severing Ties on Sunday. I'm just wondering because I ran into another guy from the area talking about more organized local PFS play.

Nope, your signed chronicle sheets take precedence over what is posted. The only time that's not the case is if you lose your chronicle sheets. In that situation, the reporting will get you back sheets potentially.

You don't need to wait for the sessions to be posted to play again; the chronicle sheets are your primary record and all that is needed to play, the online record is merely supplementary. As long as you have all your chronicle sheets filled out you should be fine.

I GM'd 7 sessions at Gen Con and so far only three of them are reported. Seems like they've only caught up to Friday. I am sure they will get reported eventually, but there's no need to stress until they do. Reporting well over a thousand tables is likely to take a little time...

I know my buddy played Severing Ties, which day I do not know. It would have been Anderson. Probably playing a deaf Oracle. I know he played a few games as a Premade but his only character I think is the Oracle.

I will try to respond via PM.

I do remember his Oracle. He was a great player who kept us alive when my dice went very cold. We really do need to get a regular PFS event going in this area.

Grand Lodge

And hello to you Hornbender. I do remember you also. And yes, we do need a regular PFS nearby also.
