I'm usually online from about 4 PM EST until whenever I go to sleep.

I start work at 11 pm CDT Sunday through Thursday nights. Those are the times I am most likely to post. Outside of that, when I am at home and awake I may be able to post infrequently.

I am almost always am at a Patfinder Society event all day Saturday. (I am a venture lieutenant for the DFW metroplex.) I do not typically post on Friday after 7 am CDT until sometime Sunday. Also, just as a heads up, I am organizing Society play for Animefest Aug. 30 - Sep. 2 and will not be available to post at all that weekend.

I'll get over to the gameplay thread and get caught up now.

Hey, drayen, you might want to skip a line or two in between paragraphs on Castien's background story. It's currently kinda hard to read it, since there is so much text without any pause.

It's an interesting background, but I keep unwillingly skipping a few lines because it's such a wall of text, then I have some difficulty the correct place to read... -.-'

Oh, and you can already write Tandall instead of [Leader's Name]...

Fixed with emboldened speech and italicized thoughts. Tandall now shows up in person, too. =D

@Nicos, I have updated my profile with the bare bones of my spellbook. I am going to add in my black blade stat block next.

@Lemmy - I assume that our characters have worked out a system of spellcasting that compliments each other as Castien must take on the role of party wizard. With Nicos' permission, take a look at my spellbook thus far and the magus spell list and let me know what spells you think he should have to fill our party gaps.

Pfff... Don't you know anything, elf? Full casters never offer support f any kind. Never! I shall spend all my spells buffing myself and summoning all sorts of minions to obsolete martial characters... Be greateful I'm willing to share Channel Energy!!! XD

Seriously, though... Don't worry. I planned on making a more support-focused character (being a archer Cleric and all...). Adventuring together for... uh... however long our party adventured together... I assume our characters have a good enough grasp of each other's abilities and are more than willing to work together (they wouldn't have reached 13th level otherwise). I'll take a look at your spell book.

If you check my build, you can see my prepared spells for the day are mostly spent on support and utility spells (plus a few personal buffs, I'm not perfect ^^), since I didn't know what our character would be doing at the first scene. :P

And Nicos! Tells us what we find in Tandall's corpse! :D

Half-elf refers to the character's antecedent, from his childhood stories. All of the family histories described him as an elf, so when the sword mentions he was an half-elf, Castien is stunned.

I see... I didn't want to play before the rest of the group does, since I just posted a rather long post, but Kobal just joined us, so our characters should interact with him. We haven't seen the guy in years!

Hey, Nicos, I've been thinking and I'm a bit worried about how combat will turn out.

If both "teams" (The party and the NPCs) have all their members acting at the same time, doesn't that mean whatever side loses initiative will be annihilated?

4 high level characters can wipe out a CR appropriate encounter quite easily if no opposition gets to act before the PCs are finished. Similarly, a high CR encounter (assuming there is more than one creature) can easily cause a TPK if the players have no chance to react before all enemies are done with their turn.

So, I fear combat encounters might end up too "all or nothing".

I think the best way to go about it may just to put everyone in order based on their Initiative SCORE, and do away with rolls.

Still streamlines it and allows for variable turns, but stops the roflstomping from getting too out of hand.

Well, I have used Team initiative at lower levles (as high as 6th level) and nothing really ba have happened, I really do not nw what will happens at this levels.

The first fight will be a practice of the sytem (I have also to see what is the effect of the lack of statboosters), So nothing really bad should happens in the first fight. Afther the fight we can recapitulate and see how the system worked.

uhm, for some reason I had the impression that sense moive vs Lies was diferent. Well, nevermind, it does not change the result in this case.

I think you can't take 10 on UMD, though.

I'm not sure I'll be able to post tonight, so if anything happens... Feel free to make Auron cast the appropriate spells and all that... He has quite a few utility/buff spells prepared. His spell selection for the day is pretty much complete, he only spent Longstrider and Teleport (to get to Tandall's house) so far.

By the way, castien still have to fill his spell list for the day.
