Sovereign Court

Kender thief holding an important item...sounds about right for this group.

Heading northwest.

Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24

Sovereign Court

Alissa: This hall goes for 90´(keep in mind, that you are back in the brackish water).

You notice about 40' in front of you and 10' long and wide that the water is a darker color.

So... A gelatinous cube pit?

#%^ sewage!

*Pulls 10' collapsing pole out of backpack and locks it in place. Uses it to test area in front while moving down the hall.*

-floats above the icky water, eating a bag of chips that came from somewhere. Shares said chips with Nasty-

Sovereign Court

Alissa: The dark area in question is a 10' deep pit. That was just sitting here waiting for an unwilling bather.

*Looks around for a way to close pit. Not finding that, looks for something to lay across pit to make it passable.*

Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

Sovereign Court

The pit cannot be closed and there is nothing lying around that would make this crossing easy.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Trap sticks the hilt in his pouch or pocket...no I don't really remember where I put it.....

@ Alick "Are those jalapeno and algea flavor chips?"

"Someone is really into mudd.....I need to find my other piece of chalk!"

No, they're south by southwest habenero cactus BBQ chips. Also... -forms a bridge out of his crystals, help up purely by his telekinetic strength- Cross one at a time please. I can hold the weight of two you -ahem- Taller races at once.

That was my coy attempt at not calling Alissa big. She's tall, especially compared to my 3ft 5in frame

Sovereign Court

Very wise Alick..very wise

I cross the bridge. "Thank you, Alick."

"Can you light them up and make music as I run back and forth across?"

Sovereign Court

Close encounters of the third kind? I have always enjoyed a John Williams score.

*Crosses the bridge.*

Alick, can you make it so we have a dry path under us the whole way?

more like Tom Hanks in Big

Depends on how far the whole way is and how much energy you want me to have left for roasting enemies up as snacks for Nasty.

Scarab Sages

Tvashtri *clops* across with his mechanicals, hitting several bell-like, if rather sharp, notes on the way across.

Sovereign Court

Ok so you all manage to cross the pit, thanks to Alicks piano bridge.

" I like snacks."

He continues to stand by Alick now as he is feeding him.

Crumbs go flying as he eats not unlike some blue furry creature who loves cookies.

Hey, no eating 1 hour before a fight.

Is candy okay? I just snorted a quarter pound of Pixie Stix.

*tucks away her platter of jell-o and looks innocent*

Munches chips loudly and crunchily......

"Are these kettle cooked for extra crispiness?"

Dusts off crumbs into the jar for the little jelly to see if it likes chips too....Seemed the best way to avoid another nasty lick....

I was just talking to Nasty.
If he gets hit in the stomach and starts spewing, we are all in trouble.

Glad I could be useful in helping the party and foiling the DM's plans.

You sound like you are leaving the party Alick.

Sovereign Court

shakes fist This adventure isn't over yet Mr. Fancypsionicpants

What? No, this is to much fun! And I hope it isn't over yet. I still need to kill Borax.

He looks at Alissa and pouts.

"My mama taught me to never waste food by spitting it out. Food goes in mouth should never leave the mouth my MAMA always say that. I am good boy never throw food back up. Me swallow it again and keep it down. That is how the bad serpent stays down there."

*Continues along the soggy corridor. Pole at the ready.*

Sovereign Court

Alissa: The hall continues for another 40 feet then turns due east for 20 feet and then turns north for 70 feet before opening into a room.

A series of copper colored metal plates lines the walls of this corridor the plates are 6 feet high and 6 feet wide.

Scarab Sages

Tvashtri is visibly intrigued.

Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36

TAK:These plates set up an induction field, which causes metal objects passing between them to become heated.

Scarab Sages

"Oh my...how diabolically ingenious! An induction field! Comrades, I would stand well back..." He turns around and looks at his mechanicals. "And YOU! TAKE CARE!"

Tvashtri lays his silver staff and crossbow bolts against the wall, and his mechanicals shuffle and scoot to the back of the party, as he takes out his thieving tools....

Disable Device: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22

The stay back order means you too Nasty.

Disable device
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

"Hey what kind of clockmaker are you?"

If nothing else uses his helpfulness trait to add a +4 to TAK's result

Sovereign Court

TAK/TD: So diabolical is this hall that the plates cannot be disabled or damaged.

Nesod? AM S?

I think we lost our spell chuckers.

Hmmmm.... -wanders into the room as he has no metal items (all crystal! Or cloth/leather) and a racial resistance to heat and inspects them-
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Anything special or peculiar about them? Any patterns, sigils, runes, glyphs, maker marks, or otherwise noteworthy traits?

"Want me to smash them?" "Or I can scare them? Or maybe eat them?" he says as a thin stream of drool starts to ooze from his jowls.

It can not be damaged. The only way to stop it is with a meatier swarm.

"That sounds tasty, so we are going to bring in meat and cook it here use all the conduction up, and have a party on the other side?"

Hmmmm... A cube doesn't corrode metal very well... G-slime only eats organics... We'd need a rust monster for this... Or a brown mold, but that would only get us a huge mass of brown mold...

Scarab Sages

"They operate on an induction field. If we could properly block the plates, or insulate the space between them, so the field cannot form...."

What if I just get naked and walk through the room that way?

Sovereign Court

How far are you wandering down the corridor?

The plates are just plain copper with no markings of any kind

That would work, but you can keep your underclothes on. It only affects metal it seems. Hmmm... I do have one idea that might work, but it requires a good length of copper wire and some way to generate alot of electricity. My specialty is fire, which means I can handle and weld the wire, but I can't provide the electricity. Also, as a precaution, anyone other than myself and the electricity provider should stay out of the room... And find something to block the water between this room and the hall way.
