So it would cost 30 pa for this change, which seems high as it only cost 7 days to retrain an entire class level.
Except comparing 30 to 7 isn't a legitimate comparison. You're retraining nine whole levels worth of archetype abilities. To retrain those levels wholesale, it'd be 63PP. Letting you merely switch archetypes is giving you a discount of more than 50%.
That seems pretty reasonable to me.

It would actually only be 45pp (9 * 5 since Alchemist->alchemist would be synergistic). Still seems odd that in a case like this, that I could retrain my 9 levels of alchemist into 9 levels of rogue (or magus, witch, wizard) for nearly the same amount as just changing to a different type of alchemist. There are even some cases where completely retraining your class levels would be cheaper than changing your archetype.
But I guess it is what it is. Think I'll still burn the pp and just pay gold for a rez should I need it. The beastmorph goes much better with my character's personality and design. And the pounce will be worth it. Trying to decide between 2 of trip, grab or scent though (although I can always change it up as I make my mutagen). I assume that trip/grab would apply to all of my natural attacks in this case.
