VO-announce subforum

Website Feedback

As PFS expands more and more, the VC/VL announcements are coming fast and furious. Could we have a new subforum under the Pathfinder Society heading for these?

Bump.

We're really hesitant to add new subforums; we really need to know that either A) there will be ongoing heavy traffic to warrant them or B) they provide a place to discuss something that doesn't fit elsewhere. I don't anticipate the volume of these announcements to remain this high long-term, and the posts aren't out of place in the general PFS forum.

Ok. Thanks.

If anything, we need less forums - there are two forums for miniatures and I'm constantly scrolling up and down past ones I read hardly-ever (but still want to keep an eye on) to get to the ones I read most often.

It would be handy if there were a way to rearrange forums/subforums.

The ones I care about are Advice, Rules, PFS Discussion and PFS GM Discussion. That's 4 windows I need to keep open if I want to ignore everything else, 2 semi-messy ones or 1 really messy one.

Avatar-1,

We don't currently offer the ability to rearrange the display, but did you know you can click the grey triangle to the left of a forum name to collapse it?

(By the way, the reason there are two minis forums is that the one in the Paizo Products forum is for discussing Paizo's licensed minis—WizKids' Pathfinder Battles prepainted plastic, Reaper's unpainted metal Pathfinder Miniatures, and the Pathfinder Paper Minis line—while the one in the Gaming forum is for discussion of any other minis.)

Thanks Vic - I have more than half of the boards collapsed, but I think you underestimate just how many boards are here :)

I just did a count, 16 page-downs to get from top to bottom. I've got more that I haven't collapsed apart from the ones I mentioned admittedly. I've collapsed almost all of RPG superstar, all 13 of the Paizo AP's, all Dragon, all Dungeon, all playtests, all alpha releases, all D&D, books, comics, music, card & board games, television, and a few other miscellaneous ones.

And there's still 16 pages of scrolling to do. Maybe it's just because I use the boards frequently, but that's a lot!

Vic, I just scanned down the main page of PFS General Discussion, and 13 of the 100 threads shown are related to VO announcements. It seems to me that 13% of the front page (~14% if you discount the sticky threads) qualifies as a reasonable portion of the traffic. Can you tell me what kind of numbers you generally look for before splitting off a subforum?
