Hey all - I wanted to make a thread for the characters who will be leading the fall of Krune in the first (official) slot of The Waking Rune on Friday morning at PaizoCon!
Amazingly, as of this post, there's still one slot left! Inconceivable!
#4–26: The Waking Rune - Washington Ballroom
Maximum 12 attendees. Current total: 11.
So who's going to be there!?
Edit: Looks like someone gobbled up the last slot!

Ugh, Jubrayl! How did I get stuck with you again?!
Oh well, I suppose most of my healing skills will hit everyone, including you whenever you get a scratch. That goes for all my fellow pathfinders. Though I resent having to heal or help the slavers of Cheliax, I still am a loyal pathfinder and will Channel 8d6, Quick Channel 8d6, and even Channel Revival (30' breath of life, one target) to keep all up and kicking.
As one who has refused the vile incentives given by the Lissalans and minions of Krune at every step, I am strong against all weak promises of power.
Caydean has recently blessed me with heal, the ultimate spell in the healing arts.
You all shall destroy our enemies, and I shall keep us alive!
Colm Kenrick |
Colm Kenrick here.
The last time I got to feel like a gods-damned hero I was defending Nesting Swallow. Fu Hui, here, and I have been busy doing the dirty work that Abby shouldn't need to see ever since.
Major Maldriss seems as weak willed as I am, but the agreement was that I would leave the slums of Absalom to hunt the enemies of freedom and destroy them for him, and especially so that his associates more concerned with their moral standing could be .... protected. I have kept up my end of that bargain, and to preserve the cover of our expeditions and ensure our success, I have submitted myself to the blandishments of the cult we now pursue.
It only hurts a little when I sleep now. It's no worse than it was before.
I hope I don't have to visit Nesting Swallow again any time soon; the last bow I bought has started whispering to me about ... prey.
There's only one prey that it should have, and that is a Runelord. They're still supposed to be human, as far as I can tell from the chronicles.
Colm is a bow-using favored enemy human/undead fighter 2 / urban ranger 9 with bane humanoid (human), bane (aberration) and bane (evil outsider) bows, and an axebeak named "axe beak".
He's not nice, and he's good at traps... And he's already eaten both atonements for this arc.
Colm Kenrick |
Excellent! You're quite welcome Colm, it is always useful to have someone around to throw sticks at the minion creatures.
Leave any life-challenged prejudice at the door of course.
All are fodder for the Lady of Bones in the end, my brother agent.
Just don't lose control of them, eh? It can get inconvenient.
And someone keep a 'leash' on me in case these... blandishments... get used as a... key in the lock of my soul.

For whoever is judging my table, be aware that I'm judging this on Saturday so will already be unfortunately spoilered.
At the con on saturday, that is. just to be clear we're not talking about me early running Paizocon premiere content, that'd be badwrongfun for me to do. (Used, just to be clear, in the most literal possible reading of saying that it would be incorrect for me to slot 0 this with non-paizocon-attendees)

I'm up for it, but not pushing for it. Fully support that it needs to be universally agreed.
Details from blog:
"Imagine my delight, then, when I began developing Pathfinder Society Scenario #4–26: The Waking Rune! Here we have an epic finale to the Year of the Risen Rune, and the premise practically begs an almost impossibly difficult encounter, right? Well, I resisted that urge."
"Somewhat."
"Instead, I have built in an optional feature for this scenario as a tip of the hat to the diehard challenge-seekers. Season 4 introduced the six-player assumption with rules for scaling down encounters for tables of 4 PCs. The Waking Rune also includes rules for scaling up the encounters for added difficulty. This is an experiment and is intended only to enable a table to legally play on "hard mode" if everyone involved explicitly agrees to take on a tougher challenge. Doing the harder version does not grant better gold, XP, or Fame; it's just for bragging rights. You have been warned."
Deidre Tiriel |
Abby has often played up, being a healing like crazy cleric, and would like to try out the hard mode for the season finale. I am also, however, a strong proponent of everyone at the table wanting to do it. I would only do this with 2 of my characters, partially because they have never died before and have plenty of prestige to come back as long as they aren't disintegrated.

You do realize that this was just a fake Krune to lead you to conclude that he had been dispatched and that the entire area will reset in an hour after the last PC leaves, right?
How else could you explain the vast numbers of Pathfinders, who you know weren't even there, having their own battle with 'Krune'?
The real Krune lives!
A Runelord of sloth should never be expected to show up on time.

It was great running a table for you Sir!
