Question for Paizo Staff concerning Animal Companions and Templates.

Rules Questions

How can a PC give his or her animal companion a template (such as Advanced, Boreal, Celestial, Giant, etc etc) or multiple templates? Are their specific rules for this? If not, until there are specific rules for this ability would you just advise GM's to treat each template as lowering the animal companion's effective druid level by -1? Please give some info on this.

You are far and away in house rule territory.

The only thing that comes close to this is the improved familiar feat allowing the original familiar list to be used with alignment templates.

Or play a Paladin and get a celestial mount.

Good call. An antipaladin might be even closer to concept since they pull from the summon monster list.

It's hard to get some GMs to allow evil characters, however if they allow it, it's a good choice.

A PC can't give their animal companion a template, just like the PC can't give him/herself a template.

I would advise GMs to not grant templates to ACs in the first place.

Aasimars can take the celestial servant feat to give their critters the celestial template.

Grand Lodge

Vampiric Companion and Celestial Servant.

That's all there is.

Also, that "hey paizo staff" thing is seen as bad form.
