The interesting thing about the PFRPG Smurf adventure is the different ways people approached it. My famiy, in playtesting, played very violent little smurfs. In one of the Con games, on the other hand, I know for a fact that the only thing the smurfs killed was a giant crab - the players used their wits to win the scenario non-aggressively in true smurf fashion. In the other game, I believe the smurfs injured a few dogs in their bid to win freedom, but mostly ran away from danger iirc.

The games were a big hit with the players, who seemed to really enjoy being able to play smurfs. My son's opinion was that, while the Toon Smurf game was a consistent level of fun, one of his groups in his PFRPG smurf adventure (the ones that only killed a crab) were a real blast and that that particular game was his favorite of the Con.

Sczarni

For people wondering about "three apples tall", I believe that was from the original comic books that the TV series was adapted from.

I'm curious about the RP myself. They get Ratfolk faux-flanking, free weapon proficiency AND Weapon Focus, +4 to ANY skill they want, and that's just for starters?

Then again, since they're Tiny, they'd probably need Ratflanking and a few other bonuses just to have any hope in melee at all. What's the damage dice on a Tiny falchion?

Tiny Falchion is 1d4.

1: You are talking Pathfinder apples. Till stated otherwise, they are at least 1/3 of a foot tall and a bit wider.
2: They did seem a little stronger than normal for creatures of the same size.
3: Why do smaller creatures cost more build points? It would seem to me to be equal strength/weaknesses.

Killing bad guys and taking their stuff.

It's like roleplaying the DEA, except they may give them the chance to surrender.

Bumping because I made them into an alchemist discovery. :)

It is correct, though I could word it better perhaps (this is 1st draft). While most smurfs do specialize in a craft or profession, some, like Sporty Smurf, take more physical skills and others, like Brainy, would have a bonus to a Knowledge skill.

Brainy, based on the cartoon, should take a -2 to Wisdom, a -4 to Intelligence, and not be allowed to take ranks in any of the Knowledge skills.

Gotta love 80s cartoons. Where it was always wrong to go against groupthink, and being "brainy" was portrayed in the worst possible light.

Just saw the Smurfs movie. It's on TV now, so if you haven't seen it, go see it before you read on.

Brainy manages to cast the spell that opens the portal home. He does say a lot of funny things. It's more like he has the trait, inadvertently funny.
