Summoner's eidolon

I have a player who would like to have a summoner with a spider eidolon, over time/ levels make his eidolon into a drider.

First question: can you save unused eidolon pool points?

Second question: can you create a drider-like eidolon? If you can, how do you work out torso?

1. No, you cannot have unused evolution points. You can, however, change their allocation each time you level.

2. Purchase the limbs(arms) evolution. The specifics on appearance are at the discretion of the summoner.

Your player could start with a Drider eidolon at level 1 by taking a quadruped eidolon and purchasing arms or by taking a biped eidolon and purchasing legs. The eidolon could be defined as having additional sets of legs, but gains no mechanical benefit until the limbs are actually purchased.
