Newbie Question on Items Found...

Okay so you find a "+1 frost dagger" on the Chronicle sheet.

Only, the fighter uses a longsword, the barbarian a greataxe, the ranger a longbow, etc...

Are found items specific to the item?
Or do you gain access to the enchantment itself (barring unique items which are specific in nature.)

But you can buy them in both Small and Medium sizes.

Wow.

I didn't think that given the plethora of equipment types and all the new ones (especially weapons) that keep getting added with each new supplement.

Has this been brought up before since the game is in its 4th season now? If not how do I go about making a request? :)

A request for what? What is it that you have a problem with?

Keep in mind that, as long as your character has sufficient Fame, you can purchase pretty much any legal item from any legal player resource -- you are not limited to purchasing items listed on Chronicles.

A +1 frost weapon costs 8300 gp, plus the base cost of the weapon; any character with at least 27 Fame, and the required gold, can buy such an item.

Aha! So that's the workaround. Thanks much!

It's not for me as I do not have a need for weapons/armor (all my characters are currently casters) but I am running a group and thought the access rules were a bit skewed. The fame access fixes that.

Chronicle "access" typically lists only the items which are not "always available", which are found in the adventure. So, if an NPC bad guy is wearing a cloak of resistance +1, it'll be listed on the Chronicle sheet, because that's not an "always available item"...even if it's a higher-tier adventure, for which we can probably safely assume that most PCs have accumulated sufficient Fame to have already purchased such an item long ago.

Until recently, Chronicles have not frequently been used as a way to offer something cool / not normally available to PCs, and that's been a source of ongoing questions / complaints about Chronicles. The campaign staff has recognized this, and has taken steps to put more interesting things on Chronicles.
