New Race Builder Weakness RP Value?

Homebrew and House Rules

Working in an interesting little race and thought something like this weakness would be appropriate. What RP value do you suppose this is worth, if any.

Unnatural and Isolated (-1 or -2 RP?)
Prerequisites: None.
Benefit: Members of this race unnerve normal animals. Members of this race take a –8 penalty on all Charisma-based skill checks to affect creatures of the animal type. Animals' starting attitude toward members of this race is two steps worse than normal.

Thank you,
-Hexen

I'd set a base-line and work up from there. Worked this up real quick.

Unnerving (-1 RP)
Prerequisites:
None.
Benefit: Choose two subtypes of humanoids or outsiders or one creature type other than humanoid or outsider. Members of this race unnerve the selected subtypes or type. Members of this race take a –4 penalty on all Charisma-based skill checks to affect creatures of the selected subtypes or type. The selected subtypes' or type's starting attitude toward members of this race is one step worse than normal.

Hope it helps.

so, unnatural but with more severity, and no benefit. To be honest, yours makes more sense.

Thanks, however is it worth a negative RP though?

Wait what benefit are you getting from this? All it does it makes animals attack you. It can't POSSIBLE be worth any RP cost, but if anything grant you points back.

He's talking about the ARG version, which is essentially a wash on RP, but costs 2 rp.

For your version, I'd think it'd be -2 RP.

Ah thanks. That is what I was looking for.

We totally miss-understood each other. Yeah the original was totally pointless, at best 1 RP, or just free. That is the reason I made this, plus it adds a bit of flavor to a specific creation of mine.

I renamed this in the final type to Truly Unnatural.

Was wondering if I could get some additional opinions on the RP value?

Thanks
-Hexen

I do have a GM I am probably going to need to pass this buy. So one person's opinion, while very nice and helpful, probably won't be enough.

The best advice I can give you is that the RP values in the book don't seem to reflect value very well at all. I think you shouldn't worry about it too much, but if in doubt, play safe.

In all likelihood your GM will set the RP value himself anyway.

Unnatural gives a +4 dodge bonus to AC against animals in trade for the generally nasty attitude animals will give them.

Dropping the dodge bonus while keeping the check penalty and starting attitude penalty sounds like it works out at a -1 RP weakness.

A -2 RP version would, at a guess, default to a starting attitude of hostile with a -8 penalty on the pertinent checks towards animals.
