Looks like the ".... Add-On is Required for each character." text was omitted on the Pledge Drive Page.
Hence why the disagreement on the text's existence on the other add-ons.

The problem here is that the wording could be interpreted to mean that you have to have, or are required to have the add-on to play the character at all.
Seems a bit of an obtuse way of reading it though.
That's what I'm getting at.
Do we have to buy stuff just to make or play a character?

If you do have to buy character slots of any sort to make additional characters (and it has not been stated that this will be the case), they will not be the add-ons from the Kickstarter. The logical conclusion is that they were attempting to correct poor wording on the add-ons when they made the migration to the Pledge manager, and one of the add-ons was missed in the revision.

The fact that English is not the first language of many of this game's fans can cause some misunderstandings.
An example of secondary language misunderstanding "American usage":
I once had a girlfriend from El Salvador. One time when she was being playful and acting "goofy", I made the mistake of saying "Now you are just being silly!"
The dictionary and her understanding of the word:
1 archaic : helpless, weak
2 a : rustic, plain
b obsolete : lowly in station : humble
3 a : weak in intellect : foolish
b : exhibiting or indicative of a lack of common sense or sound judgment <a very silly mistake>

I think your right in that conclusion,

I tend to read some things many ways
Example
"Must have defeated a foe through force of arms alone, without recourse to spellcasting."
I read it as; "defeat a foe without using only weapons and no spells"
it can also be read as "defeat a foe without using only weapon, no spells and alone."|

Interesting. To me, it reads as: Defeat a foe without casting any spells. You must defeat the foe, without spells (barehanded or with weapons).
The context of the entire subject would be needed to fully comprehend the meaning. Clues as to meaning can be taken from the text around the sentence, as well as, the entire subject and setting of the text.

Me and some old friends read that requirement as the second reading at the start, but after I read it again a week or two later I went to the first reading and pointed it out to them, and they thought I was misread it.
But it was not nuts, because the nature of DnD is co-operative play, not solo play, hence Alone in these case was just refering to the weapons and not being alone

Oh, and if you're still reading this, Ryan, is there any way to add a buddy to a pledge tier? I'm aware of the 35$ "Adventurer Reward Tier" add-on, but I mean one that would get earlier access. For example, if someone has an Alpha pledge, it would be nice to be able to get a secondary account at the same level instead of one that misses the majority of EE.
