Masterwork Instrument - oratory

I have a bard with perform: oratory (he tells stories about the greatest of all pathfinders - himself) and I was wondering if there was masterwork 'instrument' or some such that would work for oratory. Thanks much.

I've always thought it would be some sort of stage prop or makeup. Alternatively you could go with the direct route and use Masterwork Vocal Cords.

I have a PFS bard with oratory as well, and as due to the new UE rules for masterwork tools, there is no Perform (oratory) tool to my knowledge.

I used to have masterwork notecards from Opparan theater before.

I would check in the PFS boards though.

I'd say that was the compromise to not needing an instrument to use the skill - there also isn't an instrument to boost it.

I thought JJ had stated there should be a MW instrument for each of the performs, and even a MW tool for all other skills?

You can ware a Circlet of Persuasion(4,500gp)+3 Competence Bonus on cha based checks, and a Headband of Charisma.
There is also Bracers of the Glib Entertainer (7,900)+5 Competence Bonus on Perform checks. Once per day on command, the user can gain the benefit of the glibness spell.

The only other option is to be Andoran. Then buy the vanity Captain (fame 40 PP 1 Eagle Knight) Specialized in Perform Oratory +1 Competence bonus.

There was a nonmagical masterwork tool for Intimidate in one of the adventures, that took the form of a scary mask you would wear.

I suppose you could say a masterwork perform: oratory tool might be a megaphone, or perhaps a portable podium, or the like. Just as long as it can reasonably assist in the task.

Maybe even a set of explanatory charts and presentation boards. You'd probably need to prep new ones for each speech, though. Or like a folding chalkboard with stand.

Masterwork Leather Choker:
Sitting comfortably around the neck, this choker let's the wearer know when he is constricting his vocal cords too much or not enough to be heard from farther distances. He can tighten it to adjust the resistance, and must always use it before performing.
This is a masterwork tool for Perform (Oratory).

If you are a storyteller entertainer you can accompany your oratory with a musical instrument.
Like a minstrel who tells tales accompanied by the simple strumming of a lute, or an ancient poet like Homer who recites an epic while strumming a lyre. He is not a professional lute-/lyre-player since his skill lies in oratory, but the masterwork musical instrument would still add something to the overall effect.

Someone with Perform (Song) might also play a simple musical instrument as accompaniment.

My thoughts as well. It's a balance between hands free/inability to disarm and a +2 boost.

Dance and Masterwork Tap shoes on the other hand...

Note that the actually GOOD performances don't care about your perform check, so you can have 0 ranks in comedy and still inspire courage with (horrible) jokes as you could with full ranks.

With the ACG, I just thought I'd mention that the Tome of Epics is a non-funky way of ensuring that you have a MW Oratory "instrument", with some additional benefits.

Not every skill has a plausible masterwork instrument. Megaphones for instance only make your speech loud, not more convincing.
