Rumor Mill (need help please)

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

In my homebrew set in Golarion my PCs have finally made it to their first metropolis for an extended time (The cavalier needs to recieve training from his order)

While they're here I know they're going to be looking for their next adventure. The game is player driven with their choices expanding their stories.

I'm looking for rumors of the world that can get my players plotting their next steps.

Rumor types:

Knowledge (rumors based on various knowledge types, mostly tied to knowledge local)
Adventure (rumors that lead to a printed adventure or scenario)
Trade (some town is looking for goods, or will be selling good at a premium)
Dungeon (leads to a dungeon)
Please add other types you think of

Rumor styles:
False (completely incorrect)
Vague (details are sketchy at best some information is wrong)
Solid (Details are good, but a couple of key points missing)
Exact (There is a golden exclamation point and all details are correct)

Most rumors will be vague/false because you know how rumors are.

HEre are a couple of examples I've made at work just hitting random on one of the Wiki's I can access at work.

The pathfinder society and Aspis Consorteum are looking for some sage in Galt Vague Adventure To Scale the Dragon PF scenario season 0
To get on the high council of absalom you have to a copious amount of corn False Knowledge(local)

I'll bite :-), waiting for file server backups have left me twiddling my thumbs anyway.

False

  • (Trade) A fearful malaise has blighted the livestock from (insert rural region nearby), and they've been trying to cover up the shortage fixing to hit us come winter. Anyone with the means should buy up as many healthy animals as they can while the drovers are in from (insert more distant rural region). A man could turn a tidy profit once the leaves start to fall. This is a false rumor circulated by the drovers to drive up prices while they are in town.

  • (Adventure) They say an emissary of the Hurricane King is in port looking to sign up a merry crew to plunder (some sunken ruin) before the Pathfinders get there. All a hopeful needs is a strong stomach for the sea, and a good back for hauling their share of treasure. There is only an utterly incompetent, foppish captain of a Taldan merchant vessel looking to sign on a crew. His latest crew abandoned him at anchor. Some of them hoped to drum up some treasure hungry rascals to send his way as a final farewell to their much hated ex-captain.
