Privateer for Andorra?

I will be playing in S&S as an Elven Rogue who's already a pirate but won't handle slaves. Apparently, S&S is 'sandboxy', so I'm wondering if being a privateer for Andorra is feasible. Mostly so my character can snigger that a bunch of do-gooders grant (restricted) license to commit robbery.

Would Andorra issue Letters of Marque? Would the Pirate Lords accept privateers within their confederation? Are privateers outside the sandbox of S&S?

I'm pretty sure Andoran does sponsor privateers, particularly against slave-trading powers. Either way, you can easily make this work due to (spoiler edited out -- I just realized that you're a player and not a GM, sorry).

More edit: I'm not sure how much you'll be traveling north of the Eye of Abendego, so you may never make it as far as Andoran -- a lot depends on how long a leash your GM gives you. I'm letting my players go wherever they want, even if it knocks us off the AP for a while. Getting through the Pillars of Aroden isn't going to be easy though. Even if you never make it official, there are plenty of abolitionists in the Shackles that might appreciate your scruples.

Ah! I forgot about that geographic feature, the Chelaxian navy may kill the idea. I know the PCs will be pressganged in Port Peril and eventually mutiny, so I was thinking of sailing to Andorra and saying how the crew were enslaved but heroically overthrew our oppressors. Huzzah! Hopefully, this will be backed up by non-pirate looking NPCs grateful they're in a civilisation that doesn't have slavery.

In case I try the idea, I better check some details. Would a sailor who visited Port Peril be arrested by the Andorrans as a suspect pirate anyway? Would the ship be impounded? Would the Chelaxian navy do this?

Silver Crusade

FYI it's Andoran. This is Andorra

Go play the "going-to-be-andoran-privateer".

Although, be aware campaign developments will play merry games with your concept, but if you intend to portrait a "good" character, go for it. But.... plan on not seeing your homeland for some time.

And no, like many merchant sailors coming to Port Peril, you will not immediately be impounded/enslaved. Nevermind a lot of pirates not being too much into slavery themselves (Go, ask the Bag Island Halflings about it^^).
