The Arbiter |
I believe this is a straight up battle for third level, it would seem the RNG gods have seen fit to make things interesting even in a sea of newcomers!
Bruno rides out astride Esmarelda to a roaring crowd. Onlookers appear to have come from all over the arena, saving the time to watch this fight unfold. Some have their smelly, threadbare shirts off, slinging them around above their heads with much hullabaloo, others simply yell and roar through nasty, often broken teeth, but the sentiment is support and encouragement. Bruno also sees Rolg, sitting in a special box above the smallfolk, in his suit of gleaming armor.
Kirk, although more of a newcomer than the dwarf, has his share of fans in the crowd as well. Among skinnier peasants especially, and some of the more skilled laborers whose muscles don't rip as much through their shirts as their peers, there is much applause at the Elf who has consistently toppled his martial foes.
Bruno is in A10, Esmarelda in AB1112, Kirk in L10. Initiatives and such.[/ooc]
Warlords of Choon |
Bruno nods to his respected combatant-friend (and the only combatant he has ever lost to) in the stands before lifting his lance high to the crowd. His history of dental neglect and general lack of personal hygiene notwithstanding, he looks very much the part in gleaming chain mail. His trusty pick hangs at his side, along with three untouched Pillum across his back.
Esmeralda seems to be in tip top shape as well (relatively speaking as she smells worse than the dwarf). Her studded leather barding looks clean enough and a couple places even shine in the light.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Init.= 23
Space Cowboy Kirk |
Kirk enters the Arena with an overconfident smirk. The kind of smartass smirk you tend to hate. He is an 6 ft 3 in tall elf with silver hair, dressed as a common traveler. You can make out something looking like a crossbow on his back and a blowgun on his belt, the only armor you can see is a haramaki. There is a dusty rose prism flying around his head, it looks like it has already seen it's best days. You can also make out a scroll case and some alchemical items hanging from his belt.
Kirk is accompanied by his miniatur giant space scorpion Uhura (just a greensting scorpion) who readies for the fight at L9.
Initiatives:
Kirk
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Uhura
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Kirk:29
Uhura:4
Are you mounted already or do you two share initiatives?
Warlords of Choon |
ride: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Bruno puts a hand on Esmeralda's saddle and mounts a little slower than usual. He edges Esmeralda to the side before covering his unusual lack of dexterity by shouting, Have at ye, puny Elf! and launching a great glob of phlem at Kirk.
I think that was my first failed ride check. :(
Now mounted and in A-B/10-11
Kirk and bug up. :P
Space Cowboy Kirk |
:: Round 1 ::
Kirk answers the disgusting display of the Dwarf with a deprecating gesture slightly turning his head away.
Kirk weaves some gestures again, mumbling some arcane formulas concluding them by throwing some sand in the direction of Bruno and Esmeralda.
Cast Sleep
DC 16 will save for both of you please
Warlords of Choon |
Bruno growls. He can't get to his main opponent because of the little bug in the way. So, he charges the little bug.
Charge to H-I/10-11

Damage:19
E. Attack:18
E. Damage:7

I love charging. :D

If I make ride check DC 10
E attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

The Arbiter |
Warlords of Choon |
Now, at lvl4 this becomes a moot point when I get a mount with an effective Overrun maneuver. *Evil Grin*
The Arbiter |
Warlords of Choon |
This all changes when I get Ride-By Attack, but for now I just get to skewer the bug with my pointy stick.
Warlords of Choon |
Per discussions with the Arbiter, Esmeralda ends her move 5' sooner than stated (g-h/10-11) and does not get her attack. Bruno's attack is unchanged. I don't know if that still kills Uhura.
Regardless, spell takes effect.
Check is sufficient to stay in the saddle, Bruno is still mounted as Esmeralda lays down for a quick nap.
Warlords of Choon |
The Arbiter has called shenanigans on me staying in the saddle. My check was high enough to avoid fall damage.
As Esmeralda topples from a sudden case of magical narcolepsy, Bruno falls out of the saddle as gracefully as falling out of a saddle can be done. now in G12
Space Cowboy Kirk |
nvm, just thought about the options and it wouldn't make much of a difference.
:: Round 2 ::
Kirk moves to H09. He mumbles some arcane formulas again while gesturing, concluding with vivid colors spraying from his fingers. Bruno feels an occult force probing his mind.
Cast Color spray
DC 16 Will save please.
Step to G08 if Bruno makes his save.
Warlords of Choon |
Save: 19
Round 2
Bruno gives Esmeralda a solid kick to the rump. The camel wakes with a groan and stumbles to its feet. Bruno re-mounts swiftly. Esmeralda locks her beady black eyes on the caster. She steps over and bites the Elven pest.
Step to g-h/9-10 Kirk now threatened at G8 and 5' back for casting. Esmeralda attacks
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Attack:22
Damage:8
Space Cowboy Kirk |
:: Round 3 ::
Kirk takes a 5 ft step back to G07, repeating his last standard action casting defensively this time.
Cast Color Spray defensively
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Kirk can maintain his spell not provoking an AoO. DC 16 Will save for you two please. Move depending on the outcome.
