My girlfriend bought me the aniversary edition of the rise of the runelords for my birthday. I've always wanted to play through rise of the runelords with its rather significant reputation and now with the writers having a second look crack at it after years of feedback, I am quite excited about running what could be one of the best published adventures ever.
My question is, how different is the aniversary edition from the original? Am I likely to get confused reading over advice and commnetary here on the forums (of which I have to assume alot is using the original 3.5 version) but reading and running the aniversary edition?

Actually, none of the writers (save me) got a "second crack" at the anniversary edition. I was the one who handled all of the updates and revisions and additional content to this version of the campaign. And one of the things I did while getting ready to work on it was to sift through ALL of the Runelords posts and pull out all the suggestions, observations, and bits of feedback to decide what was good advice and what wasn't.
A lot of the commentary for the original campaign, as a result, directly resulted in changes to the revised version, and so a large amount of that stuff will, hopefully, be unnecessary.
Advice and suggestions folks had on significantly expanding the adventures or tying in side quests and the like should still be solid though.

Well I meant 'writers' as a kind of general term. Honestly, this seems like an absolute ideal situation for a published adventure. It was already one of the best adventures written for dnd/pathfinder. It has an insanely active community devoted to creating content, and providing feedback in it. And then a talented and experiences writer/editer (yourself) actually got a chance years later to go through it, make edits, corrections and additions.
The single best asset for paizo adventures is this forum, and its invaluable feedback, additional resources and commentary. I dont think in all my gaming years have I felt like I had more 'backup' when running an adventure then here. I cant explain how excited it makes me to start sifting through the adventure, and the think, hey let me check out the boards, and see a massive collection of community created handouts and content for it that I could use to add to my game.
Its feels like the old days when I could spend hours and hours on my adventures because well I was a kid. I'd have maps drawn on parchement paper and aged, or half burnt notes on yellowed paper to provide clues for my players. Except now I have a whole community to help me do that stuff since with the whole job, and adult life/family/responsibilities thing I have a whole lot less time.
And I realize it isnt going to happen often because it could hurt original sales for the aps to reprint previous adventures with updates, so its rather exciting to take advantage of this opportunity.

Seconded on the forum love, Kolo.
With the forums, I don't even need to wait for some redux version of a great AP like Legacy of Fire, I just hit the boards and chose from the myriad alternatives for things that don't quite work for me. And if I hit trouble, I just ask and the thousand GM army backs me up!
The AP forums are the best part of this site.
