Question on the Kickstarter fulfillment process

I know this has been asked before-but I haven't seen an answer. (please forgive me if I missed it!)

But how is this going to work for guilds?
Essentially, I have six different people who should be getting the pdfs, minis, etc. I know from experience that paizo can't send me six copies of the pdfs to distribute as I see fit. When paizo loads a second copy of a pdf you already own, it just overwrites the first one, but you still end up with one copy. So don't guilds need some sort of extra step in the process to identify who the other five people are who should be receiving the products and which of the six guild members is receiving each add on pledged for? We were told that would be handled in the survey after the kickstarter but since that's not happening, now--will that be part of the tool? When I go into the fulfillment tool on my account, am I going to need the paizo avatar name, email address, home address, of the other five members of my guild--none of these or all of these? Just trying to be prepared, since I know at least one of my guild members doesn't have a paizo account....

Quote:

There will only be one process. Effectively the Buddy and Guild Rewards will generate paizo.com Kickstarter-flagged accounts that can access the fulfillment tool just like the original backer.

You will not be able to break up the Rewards and assign them. You'll just provide email addresses for the people you want to include as your Buddy or Guild members, they'll be sent a message giving them directions on how to access the fulfillment tool, and they'll be able to log in and manage their "pledge" as if they'd backed the Kickstarter directly.

Quote:

You will be able to distribute Add-Ons to other players once the Pathfinder Online account management system is set up. That will not happen soon.

You will be able to distribute $35 Adventurer Level pledges the same way you distribute a Buddy or Guild Reward; by telling us the paizo.com account information of the recipient.

I'm just bumping this because although the answer "this will come later" was ok a year ago, I'm wondering if there's an ETA on when a process where I will be able to distribute the guild member's add ons will be in place and any idea what it will be yet? Please forgive me if this is obvious, but this will be the first time I've ever played in an online game, and I don't want to mess it up for my 5 other friends. Thanks.

Ryan posted THIS just a few days ago.

The most recent blog on the goblinworks site also talks about linking Paizo accounts to a soon to be revamped goblinworks site with accounts created there.

I'll go out on a limb and predict the guild packages will be manageable when that occurs in the next little while.

Thanks-that's a good prediction and I thought perhaps it might be the case, but I'd really like someone from Goblinworks to confirm it. I don't need to begin play with 12 alliance packs...and the rest of my guild having nothing--y'know?

I think you can distribute the Guild and Buddy accounts now, actually. I think the on,y thing we're not currently implementing is the Adventurer distribution.

that's great-how? I looked at the kickstarter info in the pledge tool here on paizo, but don't see anywhere I can distribute out the add ons. they're just all assigned to me.

The Guild and Buddy accounts are not add-ons. We may have to handle add-ons via our own system once we get it running.

no...I wasn't saying the guild and buddy accounts were add ons. I'm still asking my original question...during the kickstarter process, we were told to purchase all add ons for members of our guild level pledge under the guild level pledge--that there would be a way to distribute them to the appropriate guild members later on. so I have a whole bunch of secret salutes and honorable titles, extra alliance packs and print packs, etc. that are assigned right now to my account-because I'm the one that made the actual pledge. But a lot of those things belong to the five other people who made the guild pledge with me. And while they have attached themselves via invite to my pledge and will get all the general guild level stuff they are supposed to (I guess) when the time comes, I still haven't seen anything telling me how we are going to distribute the add ons that were bought under the guild pledge--and since there is only a month left before play begins, I'd really like to know how that's going to work?

CEO, Goblinworks

We don't have an answer to this question yet but it is increasingly looking like there will be a mechanism to transfer your account balance out of Paizo's system and into our system and then use our system to allocate the add-ons.

Awesome. Thank you for your patience with the questions of an mmo newbie.

The Exchange Goblin Squad Member

Ok-sorry to keep harping on this, Ryan, but it's already become an actual problem. There were two print packs ordered in our guild pledge. Only one of them was actually for me, but they're both being sent to me because so far there's no way for me to parse out the rewards I pledged money for to the appropriate people in my guild pledge.

Now, most of the people in my guild pledge live within 50 miles of me, so I can drive the other person's print pack to him, but I'm really hoping you've got something in the works for this before early enrollment starts? Because I also bought extra 3 months time-two of them-in the pledge and again, only one of those extra 3 months time is for me. I don't want the other person's free time to get eaten up because it's sitting on my account?

Sorry to be such a pain about this and if I need to start emailing customer service instead of bumping this thread, let me know and I will do so....

CEO, Goblinworks

Emailing customer service won't do anything. They're not handling Goblinworks' store business like game time add-ons.

As soon as we get the tech built to let people move Add-Ons from one account to another, we'll let everyone know.

CEO, Goblinworks

I should add that game time doesn't get used just because it's on an account. You'll have to affirmatively choose to use game time. If you don't want to play when you get your invite, you're welcome to wait until the game is more developed. Likewise you will choose when you use additional game time increments - they won't just be automatically consumed.

Ok-well that takes care of my biggest worry--I just didn't want the extra game time for my friend to get eaten automatically by my playing. Thank you (again!).

Just checking on this again, since EE starts Sept 15th. Question on what happens if you don't have then. I don't want, for example, someone else's extra player or class pack to be destroyed because someone kills my character (just an example of one of the many things that may be on my character that are not actually owned by my character). Is there going to be a way to keep such things from happening, etc? Or do you plan to have a solution to this by mid September? Thanks!

Goblin Squad Member

Good question, as I have a similar situation, AND some of my $35 Adventurer reward players have asked if they can upgrade to the new $50 Explorer level.

Agreed! Same situation here. The only reason I bought 2 for friends is because it was said on the twitch stream the last night of the Kickstarter that I should buy them for my friends and that I could trade them and they could upgrade.

Now there is just a month left before EE and we still don't have that solution in place. Getting very worried.

I suspect that things like class packs will have to be activated before they appear on a character. Hopefully, your first character won't have everything your group bought in its inventory on day one.

Class packs may or may not contain items that can be destroyed or looted on death. From what I understand, though, some things will be protected from looting and loss on death (like base camps and smallholdings).

Update on Fulfillment and Survey

Hi Backers!

We've been getting a steady stream of questions regarding the post-Kickstarter process and I thought it would be good to send out a quick Update to get everyone in the loop.

We have not sent the Kickstarter Survey. Originally I intended to use the Survey to gather information for the Guild Land Rush Promotion but due to the mechanics of the Survey process we have decided to handle it using paizo.com instead.

We receive your email address as a part of the Kickstarter Backer Report so we do not need to use the Survey tool to contact you. At this time, it does not seem necessary to use the Survey at all, so we may not send one.

The Fulfillment system you will use to allocate accounts from Buddy, Guild and Adventurer Add-On Rewards, and to increase your Pledges and upgrade your Rewards is under development by Paizo. As soon as we have an eta on when we'll be ready to open it for your use, we will post and Update with that schedule. We know you're all anxious to get the PDFs from the various Rewards that included them, and we're anxious to get them to you as well. We're moving as fast as we can on the Fulfillment system and expect to be able to give you more visibility on it soon.

Thanks for your patience!

You know the Pledge Manager was deployed and closed already, right?

Goblin Squad Member

So we were already able to allocate Adventurer Add-On to friends and they could have upgraded those?

Did I miss it?

The Exchange Goblin Squad Member

I think I purchased five adventurer add ons and have been waiting for them to show up on my goblinworks account so they can be distributed. I say I think because there seems to be nowhere to look that up. I have people that will upgrade to EE when/if that becomes avaiable. As it stands now the adventurer add on rewards have to wait until December 2015.

CEO, Goblinworks

Nope! Adventurer add-ons are still not assignable.

Ryan Dancey wrote:

The question at hand, is "Will they be before EE starts?"

As that's why many of us bought them for friends. And as the quote above from a year and a half ago says... we were told we could assign them to friends and they could upgrade them to join us.

Same here.. but 2 extra friends not 5. I've been telling them I'll send them accounts "soon" for a year and a half now. I don't think they believe me any more, and if I start playing without them it will just suck.

I think I would just end up selling my Crowdforger buddy if I can find anyone to buy it as playing alone is not my plan.

CEO, Goblinworks

We absolutely intend for the distribution of Adventurer add-ons to happen before Early Enrollment begins.

The Exchange Goblin Squad Member

Thank you for the response and its contents.

Goblin Squad Member

Yes thanks. That's what we have been waiting to hear!

Yes-the pledge manager did not allow us to apply add ons to the correct member of a guild pledge, though. (please see my original post and my post from may of 2014 the may one reads: "no...I wasn't saying the guild and buddy accounts were add ons. Is this ability also going to be in place when early enrollment starts, please? Thanks.
