I'm in a Pathfinder game where the bard in our group has taken the Pathfinder Chronicler prestige class.
There's two writeups for this class - one in the Core Rulebook, one in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting. They have different pre-req.'s but the same abilities - but not quite the same.
The writeup for the Deep Pockets class ability states that the character can create 100gp per level of nonmagical equipment that can fit into a backpack. Where the descriptions differ is the weight limit - the Campaign Setting version states all items bought in total must weigh no more than 10lb, the Core Rulebook states that each item is limited to 10lb but there is no total weight limit.
Given that he was going to pull 6000 dead cats out of his backpack at one point (please don't ask why) and that we'd already used the ability to build a functional lift platform (all individual items involved are listed in Ultimate Equipment, are cheap and weigh 10lbs or less each, the lift could carry several hundred pounds' weight of treasure), plus he can use it to obtain alchemical items in seconds that take my alchemist days or weeks to craft, I'm starting to get concerned that it's a little powerful when used creatively.
I wanted to ask: has anyone else noticed there's two versions of the same prestige class and is there anything that states that one is superceded by the other?
