Stacking Damage Reduction

Rules Questions

So I'm trying to make a strange class combination and I came upon the fact that both classes give Dr #/-. So I am unsure if these two sources would stack or not. From the book "If a creature has damage reduction from more than one source, the two forms of damage reduction do not stack.
Instead, the creature gets the benefit of the best damage reduction in a given situation."

You answered your own question in your post.

As far as I can recall the DR x/- from multiple sources stacked in 3.5 - like when Barbarian put on adamantine armor. I am not sure if that was changed or kept in PF, however.

Silver Crusade

Unless specifically noted - like Barbarian DR - DR doesn't stack. If a PC/NPC has multiple types of DR, you only apply the highest benefit.

Depending on what classes you're blending, wolfen, it might not stack.

Ok as I said strange mix.
Druid 4 Barbarian 16 with shaping focus to continue the Wild Shape

Elemental Shape IV gets DR 5/- while Barbarian gets DR4/-

Probably won't stack because abilities that are dependent on physical form are not kept while polymorphed - and Barbarian DR can be argued to be ability based on current form.

Silver Crusade

Seems pretty cut & dried. ESiv lets you become a huge elemental with built in DR 5/-.

Barbarian DR (which is an extraordinary ability, not physically dependent) stacks with other DR's.

So as a Huge Elemental with 16 Barbarian levels, you'd have DR 8/-.

Depending on how much you want Uncanny Dodge, you might be better taking the Invulnerable Rager Archetype, letting you get DR 13/- in your elemental form; DR 8/- the rest of the time.

Although I'm not sure how you're attaining an equivalent Druid Level of 12 for your wild shape, unless your GM is houseruling you can take the feat Shaping Focus twice with stacking effects.

Actually polymorph school explicitly states loss of extraordinary abilities of previous form that are based on the form. I'd say it would be reasonable to judge that resistance to physical damage is based on one's form (thick skin, etc.).

I can't find it stated explicitly anywhere in the barbarian description.
