Kingship, ruling over domains, etc...

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Anyone know any good sourcebooks out there for playing high level characters who eventually own their own land/castle/domain? I loved Birthright, but wanted something maybe a little bit easier as I don't want it to be the center of my campaign, but would like some basic rules for upkeep and ruling over a domain.

Pretty much this. That being said, I really don't like the kingmaker rules. They said they will expand them in Ultimate Campaign, but weak foundations and all that...

The old D&D Companion and Masters sets also had a set of dominion rules. Chivalry & Sorcery and Pendragon also had a good amount of material on that topic.

The retroclone Adventurer Conqueror King also deals heavily with this sort of thing. No idea how well it does this or how well it fits with Pathfinder, but it's the main feature of the system that's otherwise pretty much basic D&D.

If you dont want to play the kingmaker adventure path (which focuses on founding and running a kingdom but starts at low levels) you can instead have a look at the 3rd party product by jon brazer enterprizes:

complete reference for kingdom building. It takes the kingdom building rules from kingmaker (paizo was kind enough to make them open content) and expands on them.
