Elf Wizard favored class clarification

Rules Questions

Quick question regarding the wording here. By "1/2" do they mean one half? Or once every two levels? If it's the former, then does it just mean 3+int mod+half of int mod? If it's the latter, would I need to choose this bonus every level or only the even ones, allowing me to take an extra hitpoint or skill rank at level 3, 5, 7, ect...

Both the core rulebook and d20pfsrd list it using this language and I haven't been able to find any threads that address it.

"Wizard: Select one arcane school power at 1st level that is normally usable a number of times per day equal to 3 + the wizard's Intelligence modifier. The wizard adds +1/2 to the number of uses per day of that arcane school power."

Silver Crusade

They mean one half, so it only counts if you take it twice (after the first time). This 'wording' is common with the racial favored class options, for example human rogues can choose 1/6 of a rogue talent - which is easier for most people the writing 0.166 of a rogue talent.

By 1/2 they mean 1/2 of a single daily use.

Assuming that elf wizard takes alternate favored class bonus consistently at 5th level he'll have 5-1/2 daily use plus Intelligence bonus, at 10th level it would be 8 daily uses plus Intelligence bonus and at 20th level it will be 13+Intelligence bonus.

Right, so his extra uses will essentially be one half of his level assuming he takes the option every level. Thanks guys.
