Round 1

Just wanted to say how cool I think many of the items in Round 1 are. There have been quite a few I've seen that I thought, man I'd love to have this in my game or my PFS character would kill with this.

Seconded! Obviously we can't talk about them yet, but I'd like to send a little thank you to all the cool Round 1 items out there, you know you who are. ;)

Glad someone else agrees. I was getting a bit depressed by all of our NYT food critics commenting on Round 1. :)

Nah, there's a lot of clever and interesting items in there, including several I've seen that I'm convinced will be in the top 32.

People like focusing on the bad. Sad state of the world, I guess.

I too am really impressed by some of the submissions. I really like some of the simpler "why haven't we seen this before" kinda items.

And there is also a lot of incorrectly formatted and badly spelled stuff going on. These are almost exclusively items I feel were also of inferior design.

If you're wading around in a sewer picking up diamonds, you can't really enjoy the diamonds until you've climbed up out of the sewer.

On the first day of judging it seemed that justification about every item I saw was terrible or worse, and I saw several of them over and over again.

Since then things have improved to the point where I have seen close to 32 items that I think *should* beat mine out. So I am already planning for next year and enjoying the process.

Good luck to the authors whose items have impressed me so far. Hats off to some excellent ideas and stellar execution.
