Monk Gloves

I was thinking of letting a monk take (fist damage) boxing gloves as an unarmed weapon so he can avoid the ridiculously costly necklace of mighty fist do people think this is balanced?

I think how people usually do it is with enchanted Hand Wraps.

Hand/Foot wraps that gave unarmed damage (only, not natural weapons) and could be enchanted at normal rate would fix 80% of the issues with monks.

Hell, even have them take up wrist/foot slots if they're too overpowered.
