ok so is the only way to get a faerie dragon to GM a certain scenario? Which one?

A certain percentage of people consider asking/finding that out as a form of cheating. The chronicles are supposed to be a surprise and you need to play them first to garner that information. Not too long ago, there was a long thread about it. You can infer the scenario by checking through threads. Sorry, just trying to save you a little bit of possible grief.

I'm part of that percentage Hawkwen,

Of course it's more shopping for playing that annoys me. GMing a scenario because you want the 'goodies' on the sheet doesn't bother me. Heck, I've fun Nightmarch because it's fun, but the boon is nice for Ksenia.

That said, I think the best way to 'discover' the boons is to play them.

Don't misunderstand me, I agree with you Matthew. I just played the scenario in question with a PC for whom it is of no use. I knew it was out there, but had avoided the spoiler and was completely surprised when said faerie dragon showed up. My intent was just to let the OP know and like I said, save him some grief. I was just attempting to be neutral and non accusatory or confrontational. Some players don't know where the vast majority of people stand on the issue. My previous post was completely intended as a FYI.

Right, but what if your group isn't big enough to support a second time through? You play the scenario and SURPRISE... the goodie is a perfect fit for your other character.

Oh no confrontation intended, Hawkwen. I was just trying to explain my point.

I had the same thing happen, then ran it to apply it to Talyn. I even have a dragon hand puppet for him. (aside, another reason for the '2 runs at the GM apple' argument :-)) If I ever GM or complete the Axebeak series, one sheet (GM credit) will be on the bard of protoplasm and the other on Ksenia (PC credit), so neither will use it.

I didn't even know the faerie dragon was available.

I have the usual bad luck...play one character give it a rest for one adventure and have the following result:

My barbarian with access to a special arcane shiny now exchanges dirty looks with my wizard with access to a +2 flaming greataxe all the time.

One possible solution you can consider is to GM online. If you post "I will run X" online you will almost always get a group of players. It's how I plan to pick up the other faction finale mission before the August deadline as my local group only meets once a month and the next session is after the drop dead date. :)

Then come join us on the PFS Online Collective! If you want to run something, we can probably scrounge up players for you!

I was afraid you'd might think I meant you. Sometimes it's difficult to read nuance of these posts. Merely meant, "I" did not want to seem confrontational. Either way, we are in agreement.

ok i have not GMed a single PFS scenario yet so i am certainly not hunting for one. But.... i am still not clear as to whether a boon is required still. Are faerie dragons available to the general playing community or no? That was the first of my questions from yesterday.

No. Faerie dragons require the above hinted at boon on a chronicle in PFS.

They are not. Nothing in the Additional Resources legalizes the Fairie Dragon for play in PFS, so you will require a boon to have one as a familiar.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

ok thanks. Off to the advice thread for next options. Thinking Voidworm
