Happy 111th. May you have 111 more.
I'm going to be on vacation starting tomorrow (18th) until the 28th inclusive. Not sure about web access or ability to post, so feel free to DMPC me during that time.

I forgot to mention that with the influx of wealth from the gargoyle crossbow cache, everyone's out of the red.
Checkout the loot spreadsheet for details.

Good :D

Shouldn't the 'zero sum' section, which I take to be a summary of the valuable items we've captured in combat, include the 10 repeating heavy crossbows and the 2 magical repeating heavy crossbows?

Lord Manticore |

The crossbow is available, from the clanliege's private stock. But they don't have any enchanted bolts at this time. You can pay cash for it (standard price -10%) or else trade him for 20 yards of silk (for his mistress), 30 lbs. of preserved meat, and some cloves for the kitchen.

Elen Emerwen |

It's for personal purposes, not for team equipment, so I don't think trading for it is appropriate. Elen would have purchased it at that price, 301.5 gp. How do we note deductions from the coin we've accumulated with the 'zero sum' loot document?

Here's a topic for everyone: Have you guys heard of the RealmWorks project from Lone Wolf? If you don't know, they're the guys who do HeroLab. Anyway, RW is supposed to be a combination MapTools/Campaign Manager/HeroLab with cloud storage and player access. I am thinking about getting in on the Kickstarter Campaign at the $100 level, as my birthday present. This will get me the software in May, as opposed to their July release, 15 months of free cloud storage, and reduced pricing on storage after that.
I'm not asking for donations or anything like that. The next level up is $250 and that only nets anyone the largest available cloud storage capacity for free. I don't see it worth the added expense, and I also plan to use it on other campaigns, including my RL ones. What I am asking is that you take a look at the video on the KS site and give me some feedback on it. Do you think it would be worth using in our campaign? How hard do you think it would be to setup a campaign file for us? The excited side of my brain tells me that it will be easy, peasy, but I am not so sure.
Thanks in advance for your feedback, good or bad.

I am gonna look into this. I have never leaned how to use Maptools so have no investment in it. I like the idea of something tied to Herolab. :)
Thanks for the info. I'll let you know what I think.

LM would you mind if I post some conversation with Ally and the gnomes back at the tavern while everyone else is with the usurer and the priest? I don't want to disrupt the narrative but Elen doesn't have much to say to the priest or his acolytes.

OK. I looked at the kickstarter. I must say I am not that impressed. I have a friend in a home game that is though. Maybe I should be doing all the things it recommends for a campaign but I do not, and having that tool will likely not make me do it. TSR put out a paper version of what this tool does years ago. I bought it. Lots of forms and diagrams to fill out for your campaign. Forms for plots and subplots and twists and relationships. Forms for major NPCs and creatures and treasures. Background forms. Flow Charts. etc.I bought it. Made lots of copies of each form like you were suppose to, put them in folders, read through it, and never used it once.
If you are running a module or even a complete AP it will not help you much imho, unless someone else enters all the detail of the AP in advance - then I might use it. If, on the other hand you want to create a world from scratch it would be more useful. both creating easy cross references and allowing you to keep mixed media at your fingertips.
If it is pre-populated with all the Bestiary creatures and a good set of maps and icons it will be more useful. And if it has all the APs or they can easily be added, even better. But I could not tell how much of that was included. I did not get the idea that it was a replacement for Maptools.
BUT, if you like it the tool is already mostly done and you can just buy it. The kickstarter will enable the cloud and community sharing aspects of the project. I am not sure you would need the cloud, even to share links to maps, but it might be handy. The community part of it could grow to be great, or it might just never be adopted widely and not be worth much at all. It sounded like you would be responsible for paying for storage for what you share with the community - that model will not be popular.

I have updated Azaraunt's spell list while he is in the Camp and will cast Detect Scrying daily, maintaining it 24/.
School divination; Level bard 4, sorcerer/wizard 4
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (a piece of mirror and a miniature brass hearing trumpet)
Range 40 ft.
Area 40-ft.-radius emanation centered on you
Duration 24 hours
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no
You immediately become aware of any attempt to observe you by means of a divination (scrying) spell or effect. The spell's area radiates from you and moves as you move. You know the location of every magical sensor within the spell's area.
If the scrying attempt originates within the area, you also know its location; otherwise, you and the scrier immediately make opposed caster level checks (1d20 + caster level). If you at least match the scrier's result, you get a visual image of the scrier and an accurate sense of his direction and distance from you.

If there is more activity going to occur at the boarding house immediately after dinner, perhaps we can just retcon the trip to the tavern in our posts so as not to hold up the game for everyone else.
Edited for clarity.

Lord Manticore |

In response to Numair, yes, there is going to be more activity in the boarding house, although not immediately. I wanted to do PM's so that we would not have the game slow down any further. Creating a new thread is a good point, however, so I will do that instead. It will be a relatively short thread, at least for now.

Lord Manticore |

Link for the Sip O' Blood Tavern thread I'm trying to remember how to link everything together to make it easier to run.

Any input from this perception roll?
I did in fact answer in general terms here. Tonight is pretty quiet, and only Lucky and Arnold Elfenegger stand out immediately.

Totally missed that post. Thanks

So the Sip O' Blood will be wrapping up soon (it appears) and I have been thinking. Would it be simpler to create campaigns/threads for each part of ST (i.e. The Camp, Desolation, Tsar, etc.), or would that be too confusing after awhile. This is a noobie PbP question, I am sure, but I'd still like some feedback on it.
Thanks in advance,
