Kick Ass Prestige Class(es)

Homebrew and House Rules

3 people marked this as a favorite.

My friends and I normally hang out after hours discussing how the game went along with any ideas ideas we have to make it better next time we play. Today Prestige Classes came up, as in there ain't any good ones for Monks. This gave me the idea to create some really kick @$$ prestige classes and some of the ideas I had were entertaining enough that my group told me to post them here.
So here we are. This thread is to entertain more than actually submit 'for real' ideas, so feel free to submit your own or comment on ones that are submitted. That said, here they are:

Bad @$$

Prerequisites: Must have defeated 5 'creatures' of equal CR to your character level at one time.

Leveling: Your character advances a per the class you were before changing to this prestige class with some modifications (if you are of 20th level when you change over then you need 1.415 times the XP to reach each level after.)

Skill Points: +4 addition points per level on top of what you would already receive.

Feats: +1 Feat for every level on top of what you would already receive.

Additional Bonuses: Intimidate is a class skill for you and you gain +10 skill ranks in it, if you already have it or not.

The Man

Prerequisites: Must defeat a 'creature' 10 CRs above your character level (can be with a group, but must be the killing blow).

Leveling: You advance just as described in Bad @$$ per level in relation to level and XP.

Skill Points: Your normal progression times 2

Feats: +1 per level on top of what you already gain.

Attributes: +1 for every 2 levels instead of 4.

Additional Bonuses: Intimidate as per Bad @$$. You gain all knowledge as a class skill.

CHUCK NORRIS

Prerequisites: You must enter combat with (but defeating is not a requirement) a being of 19 CRs higher than you level by yourself. All stats must be a minimum of 18.

Leveling: You advance just as described in Bad @$$ save for one difference. There is only one level in this prestige class. There is only one level in Chuck Norris.

Skill Points: Multiply all your Skill Points by 2 retroactively and all skill are considered class skills for you.

Feats: Multiply all Feats you have by 2 retroactively including racial and/or other previous classes. You may take any Feat whether you meet the prereqs or not.

Hit Points: Multiply your Hit Points by 2.

Attributes: Multiply your Attributes by 2.

BAB and Saves: Multiply your BAB and Saves by 2.

Addition Bonuses: Your intimidate transcends beyond any language barriers and is always on. Only by sheer force of will can it be 'turned off' on a case by case basis.
You gain 3 Roundhouse Kick Attacks per round, because the time is always 2 seconds away from a roundhouse kick. These attacks always strike your target and does exactly what you intended.
You automatically grow a beard with a fist as a chin. This grants you an additional attack per round. Opponents are treated as flat footed against this attack.
You gain immunity to all fear effects and mind control effects.
You are can never be caught off guard, flat footed, backstabbed (even at range).
You sense whenever you are being 'looked' at.
Gaze attacks effect the would be attacker instead of you.
Above everything else, all rumors and stories told about you, if you agree with it, are true.

That concludes this installment of Bad @$$ Classes, for the time being. I hope you find it entertaining and comments/suggestions are welcomed.

Shadow Lodge

Makes one wonde what THE WOMAN will offer.

:)

The Woman

Prerequisites: Must defeat a 'creature' 10 CRs above your character level (can be with a group, but must be the killing blow).

Leveling: You advance just as described in Bad @$$ per level in relation to level and XP.

Skill Points: Your normal progression times 2

Feats: +1 per level on top of what you already gain.

Attributes: +1 for every 2 levels instead of 4. She is granted a bonus of 8 to Charisma.

Additional Bonuses: Intimidate as per Bad @$$ as well as Diplomacy and Bluff when using her 'charm'. You gain all knowledge as a class skill.

The Herald

Prerequisites: Must be the sole survivor of your world and recruited by a Universal Entity.

Leveling: As per Bad @$$.

Skill Points: As per original class.

Feats: You gain a feat every level in addition to normal advancement.

Additional Bonuses: The Power Cosmic. Pretty much anything you can think of you can do it. Your only limit is the one who created you.

I have gotten sick and tired of the Chuck Norris jokes and whatnot, but yours made me laugh. Kudos!

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32

I removed a post and some replies to it. Not funny.

I assure you there was no intent of offense on my part with this thread and if there was (and supposedly there was) I am sorry.

This does put a hamper on my next idea though...:
the Chauvinistic Pig...just kidding, honestly.

No harm meant.

Edit: before anyone comments on this one, please check yourself and make sure you don't meet the requirements of the hidden class. If you don't then feel free to comment, seeing as how this is a class best left in the dark where they breed.

I could've sworn you said this was for entertainment purposes only...wasn't really to be taken seriously...

So true Fiendish Dr Wu!

The Sidekick

Prerequisites: Assist another character, of higher level, with defeating an opponent of equal or greater CR to the character assisted.

Leveling: All levels cost 2 times the normal amount.

Skill points: Receives x2 normal skill points as per the last class your character was before taking this prestige.

Feats: Gain feats as previous class plus you get a teamwork feat for every level of Sidekick, as well as giving the same teamwork feat to your mentor.

Attributes: For every level of Sidekick you may increase one Attribute to 2 less than your mentors Attribute. If you already have better stats then increase your mentor's sub Attribute to 2 above yours.

Additional Bonuses: If an effect or hit would kill your character you, instead, fall unconsious (ready for capture to lure your mentor into a trap).
A sidekick can always add a +2 to any check their mentor has to make (unless it helps the story to do otherwise). No matter what, the mentor always seems to teach something of value to the sidekick (even when it is the sidekick who made the discovery/attack/etc.

The Mascot

Prerequisites: No level in any player class.

Leveling: You're kidding, right?

Skill points: Well, you made the suit, you practiced your dances and clever little jokes...I guess you can have a point in each of these...Craft mascot costume, perform 'dance', perform mime like jokes.

Feats: Really? How about annoying? If it isn't a feat it should be.

Attributes: You are really a greedy little cuss and you already have so much for nuthin' as is, so no ... no attribute bonuses for you! The soup nazi says so.

Additional Bonuses: .... Apparently reading is not part of the class if you're still here looking for handouts...go bother the Washington Senators...that'll keep 'em busy.

Dotting for future contributions. Good on you Xan!

The Duke

Prerequisites: Have a lung removed. Base Rate of Movement 15'. Ride skill rank of 10. Ability to use firearms.

Leveling: You see a level, you take a level.

Skill points: You need a point, you take a point.

Feats: Yeah. I got two of 'em. What's it to ya?

Attributes: Call upon unlimited Constitution in times of need vs. subdual damage, effects of alcohol, and being shot ... once. Charisma, you grow on people you like (women come to love you ... eventually...Your enemies hate you so much they get a -4 against you for blinding rage.

Additional Bonuses: Use firearms from horseback. Called shots are easier for you; especially from horseback. +4 to called shots, including whiskey.

john wayne ftw,p.s. scary thought, the duke and chuck norris multiprestige...everyone else is doomed

I didn't think about that until you mentioned it. Hmmm. Well, you do know what they say about the difference between Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee? Bruce was too Awesome for one man to contain, but Chuck has just the right amount of Awesome to survive. The same would go for Part Chuck and Part Duke. As a GM if someone were to multi-prestige in those classes they would explode during the first session.

The Red Shirt by request

Prerequisites: You have survived long enough in the background without making waves and now you have gotten that long awaited promotion. In other words, you have been the torch bearer for the party for a while and have done absolutely nothing save for carry equipment, make meals, been taken for granted and even forgotten about from time to time.

Leveling: You finally gain a level! Choose any class to level from!

Skill points: Being a Red Shirt you can choose any and all skills you want and you get all the skill points you can handle! (go ahead take the candy)

Feats: You have been waiting all this time with no reward and no respect, so take 2 feats, aw heck take 8 feats! You deserve them.

Attributes: While we are at it have 8 points for use in your attributes. You'll show them what for!

Additional Bonuses: No matter what you or anyone else does, you die at the first encounter with the BBEG even if no one else ever sees him.

Liberty's Edge

i would like The Good Undead.

Just because

I am thinking of creating a Kirk class, but I would like to hear some suggestions and/or your take on it first.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Deadite Slayer

Prereqs: pithy one liners, cabin in the woods, one hand must have been lost to the Deadites and been replaced by a weapon of some kind.

Leveling: As previous class(es), only cooler

Skill Points: New class skill: chemistry

Feats: Any that make you appear much cooler than your full name would imply

Attributes: Must be wiser than most, handsome and have insane Con; Int optional

Additional Bonuses: Leadership but only of pretty girls or frightened mooks (note: mooks often fed to the Deadites to save PC)

And you have to have a chin that gives Jay Leno a run for his money.

the Kirk
Prereqs: You must know the Laws, but be Chaotic, alcoholic, womanizing (you especially have a weakness for green women), and have at least 10 ranks in bluff and a slight speech impediment. At your command you must also have a ship you are proud of. Eventually your character's eyesight goes bad and you need glasses to read.

Leveling: As previous class(es), but if you don't like this method change the rules.

Skill Points: Double your ranks in Bluff. Everything else can be faked.

Feats: You think know how to fight. You gain feats as normal, and in addition you gain the 'Fake the Funk Feat'. This feat covers anything and everything you could ever possibly need to know (like out logiccing a vulcan) or be able to do in situations that involve life or death (or situations you have blown out of proportion) like 'back-fu'.

Attributes: By sheer belief in yourself your Charisma is in effect doubled (unless someone roles to disbelieve).

Additional Bonuses: You also gain halfling luck, but we will call it Captain's Luck. People misinterpret, to your favor, your level of Will, including yourself. This is a special thanks to Bluff, for you are so good at it you can bluff yourself!

Leroy Jenkins anyone?

I am now working on a 'drill instructor' class (R Lee Ermey) and an SF prestige class.

bumped for interest.

Dot.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

The Nemisis...

Has to have a Drawback: Must always have a outlandish, overly complicated plan to capture (never outright kill) your enemies, and if successful, you must divulge your entire evil plan in detail before attempting to finish them off.

Good one! I like it!

The Little Friend
Prereq: Must travel on a companion that is at least 1 size category larger than yourself, but have more 'firepower' than said companion.

Leveling: As previous class

Skill points: As previous class

Feats: You may share feats with your companion and visa versa, so this makes teamwork feats especially useful seeing as how you and your friend can take two different ones and still share.

Attributes: While on your companion your Dex is treated as though it is 4 levels higher than it really is. This is a bonus to your AC as well as the entity you are a parasite to...I mean your companion.

Additional bonuses: You have the ability to remain unseen until the moment you are ready (or your companion rats you out) to strike. At level 5 of being the 'Little Friend' you and your companion may treat each other as familiars (if either of you are spell casters that is).

Say 'hello' to my little friend!
