Magic Armor vs. Max Dex

Rules Questions

Me have problem reading common human.

Is there any difference for masterwork and/or magic armor when it comes to the max amount of Check penalties and/or Dex bonus?

I remember in some early campaigns that magic armor allowed you to use your full Dex bonus, so I had to ask.

Masterwork reduces the armor check penalty by 1, and magic armor is masterwork, but aside from that indirect relationship, no. (Edit: I know you know that, but I'm just making a complete statement, is all).

The Masterwork property reduces the armor check penalty by 1.
Magic enhancement bonuses do not affect either the armor check penalty or the max dexterity bonus.

Mithral Armor (a special material) reduces the armor check penalty by 3 (does not stack with masterwork) and increases the maximum dexterity bonus by +2.

Back in 3.5 there was a special Magic Armor property that affected max dexterity bonus but it does not (yet) exist in Pathfinder that I am aware of.

Nimbleness, yes it was basically like doubling your mithril bonus for a +1 enhancement. Also for you dex types there is Angelic armour but after 26 dex you might have to start investing in Bracers of Armour or Robes that give an Armour bonus

As a note, I believe that any armor crafted from mithral is masterwork

Gourry187: Correct, which is why I said it does not stack with the masterwork property. That question has come up a number of times.

example: Does Mithral Armor's masterwork bonus already part of the 3point reduction in armor check penalty or is it added to it? Answer: Already part of it.

But since I didnt want to bring that into it I thought I could get away with a small little blurb about it not stacking. Guess not. :P
