Finished the Rumble Room in Sanctuary, including towel stations at both corners, and a gurney, IV rack, and medical oxygen cylinder for those especially brutal fights.
The Mall at Hangman Alley is coming along nicely. The lower level is for basic necessities, and the upper level is full of shops, greenery, an arcade, security cameras, and public restrooms. I still need to save the caps for my last Tier 3 shop, furnish the security office, and finalize the decorations. I'll try to get pictures up when I'm finished.
How are you building security cameras, gurneys/medical items, etc? Mod?

Yeah, there's a PC mod called "Expanded Settlements" (IIRC) that just adds a butt-load of craftable objects for settlements. I'm not hacking resources, just adding more options for building. It's got everything from individual cinder blocks, to the Kingsport lighthouse.

Very nice. Looking forward to the pictures!

Yeah - I fully expect that there won't be any nudity mods, which only bothers me due to the absurdity of our American bias that seeing boobs is not okay but watching people get dismembered is totally fine.
But the crafting mods and armor mods and texture improvement mods - so many that would improve the game - I can't wait for those!

Interestingly, it looks like you can't "speed reload" by swapping weapons via hotkey. So far I've seen my weapons at the same load I left them at (when applicable).

So you want me to do a Reaver run? I guess I will do a Browncoat run after that.

That IS the Browncoat run in Fallout. The Reaver run is NC-17 ... ;)

Was just looking at the PBS show Nova's website. This week's upcoming episode is "Robots on the Rise."
Last week's was "The Iceman Reborn."
Before that was "The Memory Hackers."
I'm sensing an oddly coincidental theme....

Grr... I built my last shop in The Mall at Hangman Alley, but for the life of me, I can't get an assigned settler to go stand behind the counter. There should be enough space to fit back there, but they just won't go. Anyone have this issue before?
Sometimes the pathing can't figure out how to get back there. I've run into problems just setting up chairs for *me* to sit in that the AI can fit into no problem. *facepalm*

OK, I got it to work by squeezing in the last shop in the cluster of shops at one end of the mall, rather than leaving it in the wide open space of the other end. Definitely not a pathing issue, but whatever. That just leaves more space for the food court and arcade!

Do you have patch 1.3 installed? It fixed an issue where the weapons merchant wouldn't stand behind its stand.
ETA: Just saw you got it to work, but just leaving this here to note it can be buggy.

It wasn't the weapon shop (I read that only happened for the Tier 1 shop, but I had a Tier 3 shop). I know because originally I put the weapon shop in the open area and it didn't work, so then I switched it with the bar, and then the weapon shop worked and the bar didn't. So it was something about that area that kept the settler from getting behind the counter.

I actually follow a number of machinima porn makers on Tumblr and the topic of nude mods and porn gifs and movies was brought up to Bethesda.
Their response was basically "have at it!" :3

Well, that's been going on forever for the PC mods, which they have little control over. I'm curious to see what will happen in the whole vetting process for mods on the Xbox. Any proprietary material is out right off the bat. (No brainer on that one. No Batman, Joker, Harley. :( No Star Wars characters, items, etc.) And I know those are already out there - Star Wars especially - for the PC.
But nudity? Is Microsoft going to allow it, let alone Bethesda, officially? That opens them up to all kinds of potential fallout (no pun intended) when parents object to sexual content being in their children's game.
I get irritated by the idiotic double-standard of: "Nudity = Bad, but Violence (extremely graphic violence) = Okay!" Totally fine to watch your teenager dismember people, set them on fire, and/or blow them into bits, but heaven help you if they see a nipple!
And since many of the body mods include nude mods as part of the package, I'm afraid they'll get banned, when all I'm after are better bodies, and clothing/armor choices, than Bethesda created.
BUT, I don't object enough to buy a PC and play the game of needing to upgrade the system continually just so I can have my virtually unlimited mod choices.

I don't know what the f~%! you're smoking to think that F4 is a "children's game".
In the US it's rated Mature (18+).

I didn't say it's a children's game. I said "in their children's game."
Oblivion and Skyrim are both rated M, and I know both are played by teenagers who are not 18+, as are many, many FPS and adventure games. And we Americans have no issue withg extreme violence being in our games by design, but not nudity. (Witcher is one exception.)

No. By specifying "when parents object to sexual content being in their children's game," I am making it clear it is about the parent's objection to content in the game their children are playing. It in no way implies that the game itself is for a child.

While the standard of violence GOOD! Sexuality BAD! and the objectification of human bodies in both violent and erotic formats that our society does might be an interesting conversation, I fear it is starting to veer off topic, the possibility of Fallout tittie mods on X-Box aside. Acknowledging I am but one lowly peasant among you, I beg my fellow gamers that if you want to discuss the broader issue at length, to please take it to a new thread. Thank you kindly for considering.

Except you are by constantly referring to F4 as "their children's game".
And secondly, there's already sexual content (nothing explicit though) in the game, as well as rampant drug use and extreme violence and gore. If parents are letting their children play the game but get hung up over nipples then they're hypocritical little d~~&+@+s.

I've had issues with Companions telling me "I can't get there" to pick things up that are right next to them. It must have something to do with the ground meshes where the AI doesn't see a path.

Fallout 4 Survival Mode Full Overview
~reads overview~ Eep!!! That will make the game ROUGH!!! Settlements become necessary on survival mode.

Otherwhere |

Also, the GECK will be out in April.
Excellent! I wasn't aware it was going to be available on consoles.
And the New Survival Mode sounds interesting - and tough! I'd still like the option to take some, none, or all, but it will greatly change the gameplay and make it more "realistic."

DeathQuaker RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8 |

(Upthread: thanks, folks.)
A very, very important thing to note about Survival Mode is that, per a recent tweet from Bethesda, they are still working on it, and that, per an interview I of course can't find now, they will be beta-ing it for awhile and may change it depending on results.
So don't take this as what will absolutely, positively be in the final product.
The one thing I don't like as it is currently written is the save on sleep -- not because it will make playing the game harder, but it means I can't control when I quit. (I know, I can't EVER quit Fallout, but I do need to physically exit the software sometimes, and on my own personally determined schedule.) This is frankly is the kind of b+!~$& I was glad to get rid of when I still played on oldskool consoles--I remember one day having to leave the house and losing four hours of play on a Playstation 2 game because I couldn't find a f&~+ing save point (I think I was going away for the weekend so was unwilling to leave the machine on while I was gone). I know beds are relatively plentiful in the game but it still means I can't shut the game off immediately, when I want to. And that feature alone, if it stays as is, will probably prevent me from using it. (Yes, there may be mods that give you a mobile campsite, but then there's no point in having the feature at all.)
Not to mention, I save frequently when I enter areas/do quests I know have a reputation of being buggy. Restricting saves effectively means we can't protect ourselves from bugs.
If they could allow you to toggle individual features of the mode on or off, that would be ideal. I always prefer choice to no choice, and as much choice as possible at that.

I am looking for to that for the Xbone...should be pretty awesome. Mostly I just want a mod to expand the settlement building. A good, hearty mod for that on XBone will make me sing I thinks....
