NPC classes as base classes

Conversions

Anyone ever convert the base classes into something playable and versatile?

Ideas

Expert: Skill monkey with skill trick kind of like rogue talents but based around skills allowing them to use skills in new and exciting ways.. also would gain a bunch of bonus feats.

Noble: A Spell less bard variant probably.

Warrior: Um fighter or something

Adept: Kinda witch flavored to me already so yeah witch

Pesant: Not sure here.

Anyone ever do any conversions like this.

You might want to check the homebrew section.

epic meepo did it along with everything else
hear you go google doc

Epic Meepo Presents: Archetypes has an archetype for each NPC class, changing them into PC viable classes. It may take a few moments for the page to fully load, as Epic Meepo wrote a TON of new archetypes.

The NPC Archetypes are:

The Metamagic Adept
The Exemplary Aristocrat
The Destined Commoner
The Expert Artificer
The Karmic Warrior

EDIT: Toast-ninja'd!

this is the first time that i did that, momma would be so proud

I think that SmiloDan could make some attempts at them too but I am not sure - he did a lot of classes in his class creation as medicine for being bored thread.

I was thinking the full class treatment wrather than an archtype. I know a fighter would be what i envisioned a buffed up warrior to be.

And either a witch or wizard is like what i invision a buffed up adept to be.

Expert would be the only one i could not see being replicated with a class archtype in one of the main classes.

Karmic warrior is way off base.

Noble can be done with a bard archtype or something.

I checked this out. Love the commoner class.

I built an encounter years ago (D&D 3.5) with a literal swarm of Goblin warrior. I painted 60 goblins for it. Instead of the standard "Warrior" class though, I created an elite NPC version I called Bandit/Guerilla. I added Hide & Survival to their skill list and gave them sneak attack. That only gives a standard 1 HD Goblin 1d6 of sneak attack and a better chance to hide, but they were much more fun to run as monsters. Easier to build than rogues too.

The Noble class in other d20 games fits a playable aristocrat.

The 3.5 Blackmoor campaign setting book had a noble class. Not so much the sword as it is the hand that wields it. Some people like this though.

A Noble/Aristocrat/Royal pain in the ass/etc would need, among other things, differents starting wealth (and outfits) and wealth by level rules. More skill points, etc...

Warrior is pretty much a watered down Fighter

Expert does have some potential (choice of class skills)

Adept is a joke.

Commoner... should have d4 and 1/4 BaB.

Kinda related (Based on DnD 3.0/3.5)
