Best Spells Against Huge Enemies

Advice

Sovereign Court

As a battlefield control wizard, I love putting up walls, pits, clouds, etc. to trap and annoy my foes. But a lot of these aren't terribly effective against Huge or bigger enemies. What are your favorite spells or tactics against giant enemies, besides straight-up blasting?

Hold, Stun, petrify, charm, dominate....

Enlarge Person!

They will never know what hit them!

PS: Bonus points for spells that do something even if they make their save.

Polymorph it into a bunny rabbit. Turn it into a HUGE stone statue.

calcific touch

Edit: add reach and it's a ray.

if you happen to want to hurt it, anything with a reflex save

Expeditious Retreat.

Ray of enfeeblement x 50

Can you put cloud spells up into the air? Or do they have to be at ground level?

If it's possible you could cast stinking cloud where it's head is. Even if it makes it's save it can't see the party but they can see it's feet and attack them.

Same with anything that hampers vision, like darkness (if the enemy doesn't have darkvision) and such things.

A rime spell frost fall is always good, too. The damage has no save and rime spell has no save, too. So the enemy is dealt cold damage, is entangled and has to make a save or be staggered.

edit: Added some more stuff.

Grand Lodge

Attack their Dex and focus on reflex save based spells. Larger foes have lower dex and low reflex saves.

Grease.
Heightened for pleasure.

rimed ice storm is even better than rimed frost fall as it creates difficult terrain as well as entangling them. So you got your opponent down to 1/4 their normal speed without a save.

For the best result combine with the grease mentioned by Glutton. The -4 dex for being entangled doesn't help to make your reflex saves for grease.

If you have some with you add a flask of acid to your grease to have it deal damage every round.

Ray of enfeeblement (x2 if need be) + rime burning ray(cold).
If the guy doesn't have more than 10 dex he is paralysed, if he does add grease and staggering fall, then make the rogue fly :D

Grand Lodge

Large sized nets.

Very large creatures often have many hit dice also, which can make even their "bad" saves pretty good. What they don't often have is a lot of Dex. I'd focus on touch spells that don't allow a saving throw. For example, enervation is a great spell all around, and doubly useful against these guys. Doubtful you'll actually kill them with it (high HD and all), but you can pretty quickly rack up penalties that make it unlikely to succeed at much of anything.

Ray of exhaustion is another good example (and a level lower). They'll probably save against the first one, but fatigue is nothing to scoff at to a big bruiser - and the second one makes them exhausted whether they save or not.
