Iconics and the pathfinder jabberwocky at 930k

1 person marked this as a favorite.

7 Pathfinder Iconics!
Jabberwock.
Dear sweet Bajeebus.
I'll be in my bunk.

Sovereign Court

The reaper folks say that they have more pathfinder minis in the pipeline. 7 was the limit they could fit on this mold.

Make sure you see the Cases too. They are a $25 option for all pledges, even as little as a $1 and they report that they will hold over 100 minis....thats a bonus in and of itself for $25!

Sovereign Court

I think the cases hold about 150 minis. 6 trays with 25 slots each.

Sovereign Court

If they keep adding such tempting options my 'convention piggy jar' will soon be empty.

This is very exciting.
I'm in at the vampire level, staring at those Iconics.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

Wow, went away for a week and look what happens. This is amazing.

Just want to say, to anyone wanting a starter paint set, 1 and 3 combined make an excellent beginner's collection--pretty much everything you'd need to get started. I'd get them myself if I didn't already have a caddy full of paint including most of those colors. :)

I do have a slight concern that with the amazing support, if Reaper will be able to efficiently handle all the promised shipments to backers.

Sovereign Court

I think, because of the way the stretch goals seem to be mold by mold, that it should be easy to get the various sets bagged from the manufacturer. That will make picking and packing orders much easier.

I don't think we will be getting the minis in blisters.

I'm fairly close to surrendering and just going all in for the add-on minis and a case.

Sovereign Court

Pirates and deep ones at one million dollars. That will also be the last goal in the crypt.

They (Reaper - over on their own boards) have repeatedly said that they planned this thing for months with their entire team involved. They claim to have thought it through pretty thoroughly and referenced something called Sedition Wars (another KS project not by them) as an example of what can go wrong (don't really know the story there the gist of it was the project was oversold at too low a price point for the production line they had in place). They really seem to know what they are talking about but of course that is just what they say - they could still be in over their heads I guess!

Sedition Wars didn't have enough stretch goals planned out, so when they met their funding they had to scramble and improvise and ended up earning way less money than they could have. Same thing happened with Mantic's kickstarter, and Tre Manor's.

Part of me hopes they start only showing the next stretch goal instead of the next 2. That way when it all comes to an end, I don't have to be extra disappointed by what we didn't make it to.

Sovereign Court

They'll be switching over to only showing one stretch goal when there are three days left or so for exactly that reason.

They have announced in the last Update they will be moving to one Stretch Goal ahead on Wednesday.

Hey folks, I know you are all aboard the Bones train, but when I discovered the Kickstarter I hadn't seen a bones figure in the flesh and the KS deal seemed a little too good to be true.

I picked up a sample figure, painted it up and did my best to get the paint to chip to see how it would hold up on the tabletop. In short, I was really impressed. In case anyone else is in the same boat I posted a full review on my blog.

Scarab Sages

Even if I get shipping direct to AUS... unless I get 5 or more of an option, shipping is a flat $25. That is sweet.

Very good and informative review! Your paint skills are great btw. I have bought the Reaper Pre-painted plastics before but not the Bones yet, so I just assumed they were the same but without paint, which they may be, but now I know they will hold up well and paint well.

Sczarni

Well, just jumped up to $256, and that's not including the Jabberwock...

Kickstarter will be the death of me, I swear!

Scarab Sages

@Fake Healer
Great review. These minis are a dream and revolutionary if I cn say so.

Hey thanks! I wasn't sure what had happened there.

I'm now in for $276 and I know there will probably be more to come.

Scarab Sages

904616... will the kickstart counter stop going up?!?!

I reckon there will be more stretch goals. There is the lair to uncover.

No, the counter must go up more!

Yeah, the Iconic so close....then we can get some piratey goodness.

I need to actually review my purchases see what extra's I actually want. A case could be useful, but so could more mini's.

Good to know. Thanks for an insightful and detailed review. There's no way I'm going to be able to paint all of the minis I get from this. But I guess it will help me improve my speed painting skills. If I could just learn to be a bit less anal about it, things would be much easier ;)

Sovereign Court

The iconics were just funded and added to the vampire pledge level and the Jabberwock is available as an add on.

Next goal is pirates and deep ones. Then it is on to an enormous dracolich.

*sighs* I'd have loved to have supported this, but alas no money until next month.

C'est la vie

Sovereign Court

Well, it will be sold in game stores later, so, it isn't the end of the world.

Almost at 1 million.

That was really helpful! Thanks!

There have also been a few videos over on reaper's boards showing the properties of Bones.

Linkie

I more I see of these Bones minis the more impressed I am.

Scarab Sages

1M any minute now!

Boom! 1 Million.

Sovereign Court

The pirates are funded - up at something rediculous like 183 minis for 100 dollars now.

Scarab Sages

Punched through the 1M... 1.005M and rising. Reaper certainly knows how to run a kickstarter project.

Okay damn, $100,000 jump between goals. I guess they're trying to slow things down now.

Sovereign Court

I wouldn't say slow down, I'd say manage the fact that every day they get another 500 pledgers it means another 91 thousand minis they have to make and ship. If my math is right.

GentleGiant wrote:

Reaper was explaining that now things get more and more expensive to produce since they are adding thousands of minis to the production cue at each level now. You'll likely see 100K jumps for any level that adds minis from now on - more if they add a dragon or other big guy.

I thought that was what credit cards for created for.

Yay 1 million!! I'm pretty happy with that!

Anyone getting the Nethyrmaul??

Scarab Sages

Most certainly.

Paint that sucker and place it on the gaming table. :)

I have just put a random $ value on my pledge, I have no clue as to what I actually want.

Going to have to recalc my order, they keep adding stuff!

Starfinder Superscriber

I added the price for Nethyrmaul to my pledge as well as a few other things. Sigh, I really REALLY have to keep an eye on my wallet...;)

The next two goals don't have add-ons, which seems merciful to me; I'm already agonizing over which of the add-ons I can reasonably afford. Two good, Pathfinder-useful goals, too: Townsfolk II and Mummies.

I'm tempted to try designing a campaign that uses every single one of the non-Chronoscope minis from the Vampire level. It would be a challenge, but it might make for a fun mental exercisce.

Liberty's Edge

Wife tells me I can do 4 add on's, either extra's or the adds...What to pick what to pick what to pick? Sad Dragon Can't decide (note I already picked the pair of dragons but I get to pick four more) Time to inventory the Mini's Locker...

Scarab Sages

1.2M achieved!

Scarab Sages

That is about 200K a day.

Sovereign Court

Anti-heroes up next, tiefling wizard, evil wizard, and scary fighter types.

Once we hit 1.42 million the deal is at 200 minis for 100 dollars. Or way to good for anyone to pass up ever!

The undead giant is big badass and easy to paint. On the other hand, the ogre chieftan in the mind your manors pledge is also pretty spectacular.
