Wow, went away for a week and look what happens. This is amazing.
Just want to say, to anyone wanting a starter paint set, 1 and 3 combined make an excellent beginner's collection--pretty much everything you'd need to get started. I'd get them myself if I didn't already have a caddy full of paint including most of those colors. :)
I do have a slight concern that with the amazing support, if Reaper will be able to efficiently handle all the promised shipments to backers.

They (Reaper - over on their own boards) have repeatedly said that they planned this thing for months with their entire team involved. They claim to have thought it through pretty thoroughly and referenced something called Sedition Wars (another KS project not by them) as an example of what can go wrong (don't really know the story there the gist of it was the project was oversold at too low a price point for the production line they had in place). They really seem to know what they are talking about but of course that is just what they say - they could still be in over their heads I guess!

Sedition Wars didn't have enough stretch goals planned out, so when they met their funding they had to scramble and improvise and ended up earning way less money than they could have. Same thing happened with Mantic's kickstarter, and Tre Manor's.

Hey folks, I know you are all aboard the Bones train, but when I discovered the Kickstarter I hadn't seen a bones figure in the flesh and the KS deal seemed a little too good to be true.
I picked up a sample figure, painted it up and did my best to get the paint to chip to see how it would hold up on the tabletop. In short, I was really impressed. In case anyone else is in the same boat I posted a full review on my blog.

Very good and informative review! Your paint skills are great btw. I have bought the Reaper Pre-painted plastics before but not the Bones yet, so I just assumed they were the same but without paint, which they may be, but now I know they will hold up well and paint well.

Hey thanks! I wasn't sure what had happened there.
I'm now in for $276 and I know there will probably be more to come.

Good to know. Thanks for an insightful and detailed review. There's no way I'm going to be able to paint all of the minis I get from this. But I guess it will help me improve my speed painting skills. If I could just learn to be a bit less anal about it, things would be much easier ;)

That was really helpful! Thanks!
There have also been a few videos over on reaper's boards showing the properties of Bones.
I more I see of these Bones minis the more impressed I am.

Okay damn, $100,000 jump between goals. I guess they're trying to slow things down now.
Reaper was explaining that now things get more and more expensive to produce since they are adding thousands of minis to the production cue at each level now. You'll likely see 100K jumps for any level that adds minis from now on - more if they add a dragon or other big guy.

The next two goals don't have add-ons, which seems merciful to me; I'm already agonizing over which of the add-ons I can reasonably afford. Two good, Pathfinder-useful goals, too: Townsfolk II and Mummies.
I'm tempted to try designing a campaign that uses every single one of the non-Chronoscope minis from the Vampire level. It would be a challenge, but it might make for a fun mental exercisce.

Wife tells me I can do 4 add on's, either extra's or the adds...What to pick what to pick what to pick? Sad Dragon Can't decide (note I already picked the pair of dragons but I get to pick four more) Time to inventory the Mini's Locker...
The undead giant is big badass and easy to paint. On the other hand, the ogre chieftan in the mind your manors pledge is also pretty spectacular.
