I'm a bit confused on where Adular is myself, thanks to all the twists and turns of conversation. I had posted that he'd be going down to the shrine to pray some thanks to Besmara. I meant the Shrine in the ship, but Rain took that to mean Adular would instead be going to the temple on shore (Understandable, I should have specified). Dhaavan, however, asked for a healer escort, and Adular decided to postpone his plans and escort as requested... but I'm not sure if anyone saw that.
Then Variel asked us to stay for a conversation... at least, I think that was all of us. So, assuming Dhaavan and the others paused, then they might still be on the ship. Is that right? Because I'm not sure where Adular is to respond. :o

Dhaavan I don't think you need to use any plunder for your check. with a bluff of 21 you should easily get us half the needed points. What part of the story in particular are you planning to talk about?
If need be Variel can enlarge himself to be more intimidating and can give a tale as well at +7 to intimidate.
If a Variel is giving a story then he would talk about outwitting the Cheliax pirate hunters. Will go with that shortly once work is done and I have some free time unless others beat me to it.

Variel walks to the center of the large gathering clearing his throat. As he moves he speaks words of power doubling his height to make sure everyone can see him. Our path has lead us through many different waters. The stories of the plunder of our hold are as varied as the waters themselves. We have battled monsters, sharks, sahuagin and other creatures of the deep to fill our hold. We have braved islands of the dead, sunken shipwrecks, and fearsome crews of savages to take what is ours by right of conquest. We have faced storms that should have broken our ship in half but we sailed on, never flagging in our search for wealth and plunder. All of these things we have accomplished and will regale you with. I however will tell you the tale of how we made a mockery of the finest of Cheliax’s navy, The Dominator.
Lowering his voice slightly to set the tone Variel starts much earlier in the story than he needed to. We had just given chase to a Rhahadoumi vessel that by her gait we knew was heavily laden with plunder to be had. A merry 2 day chase was had as our pilot threaded the waterways and steadily gained on our prey. After the 2 days was over we were able to start firing upon the Sanbalot. Wishing to take the ship as a prize as well we kept from damaging her while picking off the gunnery crews. That is when the surprise happened. The Sanbalot had a manticore aboard and released it upon us. Letting his voice gain in pitch he talks of the pitched battle that eventually saw The Dread Lady victorious.
Quietly again as he narrates the tale Variel moves ahead to the cove. Now here we were with 2 ships and in need of water and a cure from a disease the manticore carried. The location of a plant was known to our officers that would cure the ailment. Sailing there with both ships proved easily done with our crew even if they were sick and fatigued. Arriving there we found the plant 200ft in the air. With it we healed the crew and prevented the death from the plague.
This though is where the story truly gets interesting. Unbeknownst to us the Cheliax pirate hunter the Dominator had sailed up the same river bed where we had gone. They were around the bend a mere 200 yards away from with full complement of marines ready to take every single life aboard The Dread Lady. We knew that it was only a matter of time before they saw us so we devised a daring plan. Instead of letting them find us we would take the fight to them. Acting out the motions Variel starts swimming using his enlarged size to make great sweeping strokes. Slipping into the water only a brave few souls lead by myself swam to the Dominator undetected. We four knew it would be death if we were discovered yet bravely faced the danger without a moment’s hesitation. Finding a port hole near the stern we climb into the hold of the ship. There we found ourselves confronted by 2 squads of marines and one of their commanders. Drawing his cutlass Variel takes on the most glaring look he can muster, Vicious hand to hand fighting ensued as the sounds of the fighting rang throughout the ship. My cutlass weaving in the front while my companions’ rapiers stabbing from behind we drove the marines back till we made our way to the inner controls of the rudder. Holding off more marines as they started to pour in the lines were cut holding the rudder in place. With the Dominator unable to be turned around we once again had to fight our way to freedom. Back to the port hole we went but this time it was no mere marine we were facing. It was Commander Kain. Wounds were inflicted on both sides but the handful of us were still up and fighting even though we left half a score dead or dying in our wake. As we reached the port hole, Jiro and Dhaavan were already out and safe, the final blow was given to Commander Kain as he crumpled at my feet. It was not without an almost loss though as Adular was knocked out as well. Grabbing Kain’s cloak in one hand and Adular in the other I dove out of the hole into the water. Reviving the bloody Adular he was able to set himself right as we hurried back to The Dread Lady.On the way we discovered that both ships were moving already. Hitching a ride we pulled ourselves up and sailed past the Dominator. Just before we rounded the bend and out into the sea Horatio let loose with a flaming bolt setting the sails alight and adding injury to insult.
Almost finished with his tale Variel looks down from his impressive height at those around him. We take what we want but we also keep what is ours no matter who is in the way. Doubt me at your own peril but Adular still has the cloak from Commander Kain to this day. Find him and ask him if he still lives and he will confirm the story before he tries to gut you like he failed to do to me.

I'll let someone else handle the hecklers this time, as Seijiro is still a little overwhelmed by his own hubris at speaking up the last time... though it occurs to him what to say, I'm assuming we don't have time to whisper something to the others...
very nice, Rain - and pretty close to what I was thinking... so kudos to you for thinking of such a great idea (haha) and a better way to say it than I would have come up with.

By the way, we are only 10 posts away from 10000! AWESOME JOB EVERYONE!!! I have a fun and big surprise but it may not happen for a bit due to how it needs to happen. That said it should be a lot of fun.

Variel: I recalled earlier that you were going to try doing some recruiting for new mates at Port Peril. Well, we just got cannon on the ship and I need a gun crew to help me load them.
I was double checking the rules and itt seems that if my “Gun Crew” isn’t proficient with Black Powder weapons than we’ll take penalties to load the cannon.
I was wondering, when you’re recruiting lads would it be possible if you could try to find some NPC’s that are proficient with Black Powder weapons? I’m sure that we can find them in Port Peril and if we’re going to use cannon on our enemies and load them, we’ll need at least some people who are proficient with cannon.
I'll do what I can to find some near the slave quarters, too; but anything to help out would be great!

You find enough men to crew one of the cannons without penalty.
Horatio, you are also able to sneak 7 slaves, one entire family of halflings, out through a hole in the fence before the guards spot you and give chase. You manage to get away with them. Of them two are much too old to go on a pirate ship, and wish to only go home. One is much too young and is clinging to the skirts of a fierce young woman who says she must tend to her. Three are willing to go with you so long as the others are allowed to settle on Bag Island.
They are Alton, a hard-eyed young halfling with twitchy fingers who compliments you on your revolver when you get away. His brother Elton, slightly smaller but no less quick. The third is a quiet halfling that looks like he might be part human if such a thing were possible seeing as he is almost as tall as a dwarf with thick arms. After some coaxing from his brothers you hear him say his name is....Hodor. ;-)

Rain, don't worry. Horatio will heal you fully; but as the girl has fainted and the Pierce guy is heading off and since Horatio figures that Pierce is secretly with the girl and that now Pierce is probably running off to gather the rest of his crew to deal with us, Horatio figures that the best thing to do is get the girl back to the ship.
However, once we get there he will heal you the rest of your wounds with no worries :)
Rain was flying and I hadn't acted yet so I'm not sure how Flynn healed her or examined her as I hadn't had her land yet. Lol
Variel saw bleeding (story flair) because Flynn's original healing only healed Rain for 6 of the 9 damage so the wound wouldn't have entirely knitted over.
Sorry for lack of posting. WiFi on this retreat is horrible . I'll try to catch up when I get home tomorrow night.

Just fed up. Happy f!%+ing birthday to me. Sorry to rant. Just needed to vent. You guys are awesome and I'll be back on tomorrow.
