yup, once Valeros, Barzazal, and the Naga go, there's going to be more summons! although i was planning to use Dolphins for direct damage, as opposed to something that would attack images, but that is a good point...

Well since the dolphins have blindsight, they might not even see the images and only go right for the naga. Without speak with animals up you cant really give them more direction other than just to attack your foe.

But I'm looking at another creature that may be more effective at removing images to allow Variel to attack. How much damage can dolphins do when compaired to a spell-combat shocking grasp + damage. So something to let variel hit is better.

the problem of course is hitting the thing's armor class... tough fight. be great to take those images down though, I agree. Or just pull Variel out of the water and make her come to us... but if she has many more magic missiles that might be a bad idea too, lol.

Just so you know what Rain is about (discussed this with the GM), she is not formally part of the crew of The Dread Lady. She will stay onboard as a "consultant"/"specialist", ally, tracker etc ... lending her expertise when and where necessary but not under the official rule of the Captain (though she will be respectful of Variel's authority). She is a "free agent" and she chooses to travel with you. I will be playing this out on the boards (social rp page probably) before getting back into the swing of things. (So Rain is available for all kinds of rp.) If she fights beside you or lends her tracking services etc, she will be part of the loot division. But if she doesn't fight or join in, then she gets nothing in that particular division. Weekends are still hard for me posting wise as I am not home or busy with family ... (that is the northern hemisphere's Fridays and Saturdays), and if Rain is required the GM will be npc her, otherwise she is not included in the events or battles that unfold when her player is away on weekends.

hmmmm... let's see.. SINCE the naga, Seijiro stayed in town and went shopping, Flynn went to tell Rickety about the Naga, then arranged to visit the watchtower with Barzazal. They are currently in the watchtower dealing with drunken guard.

I'm not sure exactly where Variel and Dhaavan are. Don't know anything about Valeros as he's been MIA since 12/11, and Imm has been npc'ing him.

I'm not even sure what time it is, since the nine-pins game/social roleplay all happened in/near the morning, the sparring match happened after that, then the naga attacked, I'd assume it was mid-day or even early afternoon by now.

After I looked over the watchtower, and saw that it didn't need any repair, I went back to town.

There's nothing to do now, it seems, except wait for something to happen.

RULE UPDATE!

It has been brought to my attention that the rules concerning underwater combat don't work very well and I'm inclined to agree. The rules for Cover for attacking into water dont make sense so here is the new rule.

1. Those on the surface who would have gotten improved cover under the old rule now get concealment (20% Miss chance)

2. Those completely submerged who would have had total cover under the old rule now get total concealment (50% miss chance)

Anyone who has gone spearfishing knows that the surface tension of the water isn't what causes you to miss but is the refraction of the water that causes you to miss.

Let me know what you all think.

Right, not game related, but I'm looking for advice -

So, I just spent 500 beans to get my auto fixed.

They told me it was fixed today, so I came in and paid the $500.00 - next thing I know, I walk out to the parking lot to start it, and it won't start (I'm still at the garage at this point) - it won't even start to turn over - couldn't even drive it home, or even out of the parking space at the parking garage, and the garage was 7 miles away.

Now I got to get them to figure out what is wrong with the car - that'll cost me $120 for a "Diagnostic".

Once I know what's wrong - I got to pay to get it fixed - that'll cost me more.

Then I got figure out how/when to sell it - and buy a new one, cause this thing won't last.

Meantime, I figure if you drive the car into the garage, leave it to be fixed, then they fix it, and say its fixed, and you come back to pick it up, why should I have to pay extra to figure out what's wrong, and pay for them to fix that when now it suddenly won't start? I was able to drive it to the garage, they were able to drive it to the parking spot - now it won't start?

Anyone got any ideas/suggestions on the matter? Any help would be awesome - mainly because I'm poor and need lots of help on these ideas.

Okay - that's not about the game, just looking for general advice from ya'll.

I'd tell them they'd better fix it on the dime I'd already spent or I'll call my attorney. of course that threat works better if you actually have an attorney on retainer or one you can call for a favor. If you live in a metropolitan area, some news channels have investigative reporters who delve into such practices but that takes some time. Dunno what else to suggest... oh, there's always BBB and you can report them to Angie's list if you're a member.

Thanks! I am not certain if they are playing a scam, or if there is something wrong with the car that they didn't pick up on.

I figured I'd demand a diagnostic of the car - free of charge - and say "Hey, I got it here without it being an issue - now that I give it to you guys to work on, suddenly it doesn't work? What's up with that?"

But yeah, the attorney idea is decent - but I'm pretty poor for that, but I really like the idea of reporting them on Angie's list - it's cheap and free. Hopefully this will get resolved tomorrow - but if not, I don't know what to do. My second job is about an hour away, and it pays too much money for me to skip out on.

Damn mechanics.

Quick Comment regarding ret-con for the past three days

Well, to me, it’s pretty late to do ret-con if it’s several days later, that could lead to a massive trickle down effect – much of which could derail things going on now, based on what was said “two or three days ago”.

I mean, if we did something in ret-con which effected the game now, well, it’s easy to dodge over an hour or two of social RP – less chance of something having a “butterfly effect” – if it’s only an hour or two, but as it’s been several days, it feels too challenging to attempt to social RP things as there could be repercussions which effect the game in general. I mean, when we tried doing the last social RP it was fantastic via the ret-con, right up until the point when we couldn’t figure out where we were talking, or when the conversation occurred (just my opinion), as in "Wait, was that during breakfast, lunch, down by the docks, wait - where?".

I can only imagine how tricky that would be if it’s three days later the same problem will occur on a larger scale.

For example – I had asked if Dhaavan and I could render the body of the dead naga down for “spare parts” to craft magical goods. We may have done that for the past three days, or again – we may have decided to explore the jungles, I don’t know. If we explored the jungles we may have gotten killed – I don’t know, so it’s pretty tricky.

GM: Although I do know that we didn’t get an answer regarding that question about the naga. If that was something we could do – I would have done that for sure during the past several days.

Anyhow, I’ll toss up my “summary” on the board for the three days. If anyone had a specific RP conversation they wanted to play out with me, I’m all for it – just let me know. But I know myself, and I know I write a lot, and I don’t want to clog the boards with a bunch of posts that slow up the game’s pace considering where we are now.
