OK, now I feel disgustingly healthy. Raw broccoli and carrots with a little hummus, an apple, some crackers, and plain lowfat yogurt with oats, raisins, dried cherries, and chia seeds. But then, I work a few miles from the nearest decent restaurant, and prepackaged food generally has way too much sodium for me--the joys of high blood pressure, 2000 mg sodium allowed per day.

Alfredo-flavored couscous with homemade alfredo flavoring:
cream = couscous = water used to cook couscous (this is important or you get soup or sand)
As much parmesean as cream
Salt & Pepper & Parsley flakes to taste
About a teaspoon of margarine
About a sixteenth of a teaspoon of nutmeg and the same of garlic powder
Today I used a third of a cup, but the recipe scales easily. 1/3 cup is enough for one meal for me. Half a cup is two. A full cup is something most people would definitely need help to eat, as once cooked the alfredo does not age well.
Preparation: steam the couscous. When steamed pretty much dry, leave the couscous in the pan and dump the alfredo ingredients in. Stir. It's not really alfredo sauce, but it tastes pretty close to how it would if cooked separately.

Also, I am in your kitchen, eating your food!
Hey, I left enough ingrediens for an extra three or four people (in case my brother or some friends drop by). If you can make it to La Dehesa in Santiago, Chile by 2pm local (GMT -4), I'd be happy to have a guest!
Plus one of my player's for tomorrow's Pathfinder game is out of the country, so we have an open spot if you stick around.

Regretfully I barely float on water, so swimming through Atlantic is rather out of question. Also, I doubt I would manage to return home in time for my Pathfinder session on Sunday :(

Nah, teleporters were expected on late XXIII century so no wonder they are not here, yet. But my flying car should be able to get me to you in the remaining 3 hours. So where is my rocket car?!

Klaus, I envy your kitchen-related free time. That sounds omnomnomish.
Today it will probably be McDonald's cheeseburgers. Like three of them and a large diet Coke. Or maybe just a double cheeseburger. I so wish we had a Wendy's nearby.
Like other posters, I shouldn't due to the HBP issue but with my time management lately...yeah. No-go on the kitchen front. Next week, though, for sure--I will bring breakfasts and lunches from home again. And for supper tonight? Probably LIQUID GOLD! With broccoli and browned butter. :)

I tell you, the Bilderberg Club is behind all this, kidnapping the guys who should have already invented hover-skates and rocket cars. I mean, McFly will be here in less than three years, and we're still using things with wheels to move around. The nerve!

Sounds expensive, and likely fatal! A proper Friday dinner, indeed!

Like most game meats, it has to be cooked properly. Deer has a tendency to dry out and be tough (it's very very lean), and the slower you cook it, the more tender it becomes. I tend to either use deerburger in skillet meals, or I make roasts.
Bison, incidentally, cooks up drier than venison. In order to make a Bison Burger stick together, you have to put some sort of oil or an egg white with it.

Food may be a crutch, water is overrated, and I have too much blood in my caffeine system. ;)
Also sleep is for the weak.
Ok, I admit. I am weak at the moment. Against spent over half of night by my computer. At least I managed to write down short article about nomadic culture for my campaign.

Homemade Venison Quesadilla (from the deer Dad shot last fall)
The power outage made us have to cook all the meat that thawed out in our freezer (about 8 pounds), so I cut it all into thin strips and mixed it with taco seasoning. It's been feeding me for the last several days.
You don't happen to live in Central Arkansas, do you? We were out of power last week in the middle of a record heat wave.

West Virginia actually. Whole state went off the grid on June 29 from a big storm. There's people who still haven't gotten power back. my grandma lost her whole deepfreeze of beef.

That's terrible. A year ago our little town was hit by a tornado, and it same thing happened to a lot of folks.

Italian food for me today at my local favourite pasta restaurant. More specifically crude ham and ricotta cannoli in gorgonzola and shrimp sauce.
For the past 9 years, some friends and myelf have been gathering once per month to eat as part of our "Eating Club". Today is our 97th meeting. Though we regularly vary the places we go, we have a handful of restaurants we go the most, where they don't even hand us menus anymore; they already know what we're having.
