Using PP to get stuff. Same limitations as spending gp, or no?

Pathfinder Society

I've been told that it's not only allowed but recommended to use 2 PP to get a wand of cure light wounds ASAP. So I can use 1 PP to get an ioun torch? Because that would be awesome.

Dark Archive 2/5

That is correct and is indeed awesome.

Shadow Lodge 5/5

I'd save the PP and spend the 70gp on an Ioun Torch since 1pp will get you an item worth up to 150gp.

A lv2 scroll for example.

You can't buy an ioun torch for gp until you have 5 fame, so until then you can ape it by asking the wizard to cast light on a hat or possibly just strapping a sunrod to your head.

Or, you know, by using a miner's lantern. Which is pretty cool for a mundane item. I can swing at things with a polearm or greatsword, and also see them at the same time!

Excellent point that I can use gp to buy an ioun torch once I have 5 Fame, which won't be long. (Currently in First Steps, Part II.) I just might wait for that.
