Dimensional Assault and Death from above

Rules Questions

Dimensional Assault:
Prerequisites: Ability to use the abundant step class feature or cast dimension door, Dimensional Agility.

Benefit: As a full-round action, you use abundant step or cast dimension door as a special charge. Doing so allows you to teleport up to double your current speed (up to the maximum distance allowed by the spell or ability) and to make the attack normally allowed on a charge.

Death from Above:
Benefit: Whenever you charge an opponent from higher ground, or from above while flying, you gain a +5 bonus on attack rolls in place of the bonuses from charging and being on higher ground.

I was wondering if you end your Dimensional Assault movement on higher ground adjacent to your target, you could gain the benefits of Death from Above, right?

It does not allow you to cast the spell and then charge. What is does is allow you to teleport directly to the opponent, and treat it as a charge.

Remembering that the entire full round action is you using the spell to charge since you are teleporting up to double your current speed, which is not the same as teleporting and then moving.

I never implied moving after the teleport, I implied ending the charge adjacent but on higher ground.

So I surmise your point is, my origin point is what matters? I guess even leap attack wouldn't qualify for this feat to take effect then, eh?

Yes the original point is what matters.

I will also add that you can't teleport into an area that can't support you.

Quote:
A creature or object brought into being or transported to your location by a conjuration spell cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it.

That means if you can't fly you could not teleport into mid-air which is another issue you have to deal with.

If "leap attack" is a feat or special attack I would need a source to look at it.

If "leap attack" means to jump, and attack then that won't work because you are using a full round action just to use the spell so you have no actions left to jump with.

The closes thing I could find was:

Quote:
Leaping Attack (Ex): At 5th level, when a mobile fighter moves at least 5 feet prior to attacking, he gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels beyond 5th. This ability replaces weapon training 1, 2, 3, and 4.

That does not involve actual jumping though.

If you mean 3.5 leap attack that won't work because you are not jumping or moving at all. You are teleporting.

edit:clarification

Death from above assumes you start the attack from higher ground so if you start the full round action from a higher ground then it should work.
