2 PP on armor with spikes?

When you spend 2 pp it allows you to purchase one item of 750 gold. my question is can I buy armor with spikes on it? The spikes have to be attached at the time of creation, but do they count as a second item? Or included in the armor as a single item?

They are included as a single item as long as purchased at the same time the armor is.
