We are able to create spells in our Pathfinder Campaign. First off I am playing a human Wiz/Rog who focuses on Color Spray. So far we are working on an advanced Color Spray spell. Increased levels so on and so forth. One idea I proposed was to create a spell that does damage to creatures that are affected by my illusions spells.
We bantered back and forth about the level of the spell, the damage done, etc. so far this is what we have come up with.
Mind wrenching Illusion
Level 2 spell
S,M,V
Range 15'cone
Will Negates
SR Yes
Any creature affected by one of your illusions feels as if their head is being torn apart.
Creatures within a 15' cone that are affected take 1d6/every 2 caster levels (Max 10d6). If a single creature is targeted that creature takes 1d6/caster level. (max 15d6)
The DM increased the spell damage because the spell is dependant on another spell.
Please let me know your thoughts.

I think determining when a creature is or is not affected by an illusion would be nigh impossible. Most illusions don't event grant a save in a great many situations. Are they affected if directly targeted? If they simply see the illusion? If they interact with it and fail a save? Does the damage from this spell allow them a new save against the illusion or auto-disbelieve? Depending on the answers to these questions, your measly 2nd-level spell may or may not be capable of wiping out entire armies.
There is far too much room for potential abuse.
Your spell is also highly incomplete. What is the duration? The casting time? What school of magic does it belong to? Is it mind-affecting? What classes have access to it? There's just not enough information given to really give you much help.
The damage is far too high for 2nd-level, even as a spell that depends on another.
There is an entire section on DESIGNING SPELLS in Ultimate Magic. I've linked to it here. I highly recommend you AND your GM read over it carefully and then reconsider your spell.
You have a neat idea, but it's got a long ways to go.
I hope that I've been at least some help.

As far as determining if a person is affected by an illusion it is not nigh impossible. Take Color Spray for instance. You can see the effects, I know you are eluding to other illusions but the basis for this single spell is color spray.
Duration is instantaneous.
Casting time is 1 standard action.
School of Magic: Illusion.
Yes it is mind-affecting.
Since I am creating it, it is my spell so I am the only one to have access to it currently. Therefore it has no specified class but when it does it will be sorc/wiz.
I understand it has a way to go and that we both have to come to terms with how the damage will be figured but we are also looking at spells that follow the same damage progression and then figuring out a minor boost since this spell is dependant on another spell.
We are following the damage progression for a standard 2nd level spell but with a boost because of the dependancy. Anything that I have to single target most likely will save or only be stunned for 1 round. If that is the case then I will have to hero point in order to get this spell of anyways.
Sidenote I agree with the adding pattern to the signifier sentence.
