Does adding a weapon to a construct (via the Weapon Modification option in Ultimate Magic) allow for iterative attacks?

There are some constructs with weapons and they have iterative attacks (such as Graven Guardian). However, the modification states that it only modifies damage. I don't know if that statement is enough to prevent iterative attacks but in my mind if you equip a construct with a weapon when it formerly had none you are changing its attack style and thus yes, it gets all the benefits of weapons.
