Since there isn't much of a way to track what animals a Druid has run into, I'd say yes.
You could argue that a Knowledge (nature) check would be required if they were in a region they don't hail from. In other words, your character background says you are from Ustalav. So animals indigenous to mountains, forests, and temperate climates would be well known. But animals from the desert or jungle, maybe not.
Personally, I think I'd roleplay my druid to not know animals she hasn't run into yet.

On one hand, PFS does not have any specific restrictions on what you can do.
On the other hand, it's good form to try to limit the ways you cheese your character. If you really want a certain animal companion or wildshape, consider having your character come from an appropriate area.

Remember also that as a pathfinder you've spent three years at the grand lodge in Absalom being trained to be a successful field agent. You could easily hand wave it if you want as being part of your training as a druid-to-be.
Field trip to the Absolom zoo. Everyone hold onto your buddy now, we don't want a repeat of last months field trip to the museum...

If you're referencing what I think you're referencing, then as far as I'm concerned you just won PFS.

Does that mean the rest of us should stop playing now?

No, actually it means someone with a better-formed idea of what it should entail should get cracking and submit/write that scenario. ;)

Write it? So help me, next time I play at that museum, there'd better be a hostage situation or I'm just burning it to the ground and walking away.
wow, I'm getting a flash forward here...
Future Scenario..."PFS 8-03 The Returning Blackros. Every year, on the vacant lot that once housed the museum, by the light of the full moon, a ghostly specter of the building returns..."

PFS 9-06 The Shadow of Blackros -- "As every Pathfinder knows, the Blackros Museum was the center of dark events, culminating in a group of Pathfinders burning the place down one year in a fit of pique. Every year, on the anniversary of that date, the shadowy image of the museum appears in the still vacant lot. Last year, at the behest of Venture-Captain Adril Hestram, a group of Pathfinders went into the shadow to find out why it keeps returning. Unfortunately, they never returned.
This year, at the behest of Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng, you and your fellow Pathfinders are being sent into the shadow museum to see if you can find and rescue the missing Pathfinders. Good luck!"
Bwhahahaha!
Sorry, couldn't resist.

wait - if it's VC Drandle Dreng - you'd be awakened and briefed at 11:00 PM (the first you have heard of this mission), and expected to be at that museum at midnight - no time for questions!
