Alright so my players have realized that at level 5 Gun training and pistol training are not traded and so not only do they gain both, but are also stacked...

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THEY ARE WRONG< OR ITS BEEN ERRTAED OR SOMETHING I HAVE A GUNSLINGING GOBLIN DOING 1d6+18...

It's a mistake.

Goblins with guns, oy.

looks like a mistake. pistol training should replace gun training. this must have missed the errata. They'll get it eventually. A goblin with 1d6+9 damage is still scary.

Look at Musket Training in Musket Master. It's worded almost identically and it does replace gun training. That Pistol Training doesn't is a pretty clear oversight. Besides, it sounds like you're the GM. You can make whatever ruling you want.

So ban it. Guns have no place in fantasy games anyway.

(Imo.)

Except for the fact that guns have been a part of D&D as early as first edition.

Guns may have no place in "YOUR" fantasy games. They have a happy home in "MINE".

Goblins with guns doing d6+18 damage sounds about right to me. It's goblins with guns doing no more damage than goblins with crossbows that sounds nuts to me.

Note the 'imo' in my post. I realize many gamers are sadly mistaken about guns in fantasy. I don't waste time trying to convert them to gunless games any more than I'd try to convert them in a religious sense.
