If you have Bestiary 3 then Pale Strangers could work, they are essentially undead gunslingers. Cannon golems could work. Anything from the clockwork creatures could work as well. If you don't have access to the book you can always look at the PFSRD.
There isn't really that much that just screams it is from Alkenstar. A lack of material from that place.

Alkenstar has a lot of dwarves.
Outside of Alkenstar, there's a lot of mutants, and it is situated in Garund. You'll probably find a number of African-style species, Gnolls, and such. The whole Mana Wastes vibe is kind of like Fallout - so scorpions, two-headed cattle, and trolls might be good choices.

gremlens would work as well.
mutated monsters of the mana wastes can be written up as can any of the "Old Weapons" there are abandoned mobile fortresses roaming the wastes and floating cities over the western mountian range.
If you have ever played any Wierd West settings those style of monsters would work as well. combine that, industrial victorian, old west, throw in some fallout and you have Alkenstar.
in general you can create anything you need.
and lets not forget your standard desert monsters, there is an entry about the people of Alkenstar scaring off a horde of purple worms by shooting the largest cannon in existance at them.
I wrote up a module for my group (haven't played it yet) that had the Duchess of Alkenstar working on putting in a rail road between Nex and Geb and hiring the PC's to clear out monsters, scout ruins, protect workers, etc.
