* releases army of skittermanders in cute bear costumes who proceed to give everyone who wants and/or needs one or more of the following: a hug, handshake, fist-bump, thumbs-up, head-nod, wink, and/or high-five *
I figured this this is just faster for me to get to everyone. And if you still want one from me directly I'm still giving them out.

Ok, I think you need one of my extra fluffy hugs.

Stay strong my friend and continue to fight the good fight.

Woohoo, happy surprise for me: My name change went through. While not *directly* an LGBT thing for me, my birth name is still one I associate with a lot of anxiety and sadness and mental illness, and I think some people here can relate to that.
So now I am Elias in every way, and no longer have to worry about people seeing my ID and think I've been lying to them.

Thanks! :)
So, how's everyone's weekend been?
You seriously don' want to know...
After two weeks of cold related illnesses and migraines, I started the day with my DSL router gone for good and got stuck on the customer hotline for more than 3 hours because of that.- automatic replacement is disable due to maintenance
[in queue]
- I explain to customer service guy 1 what the problem is, why it is pretty clear that it is a problem with the router, customer service guy agrees and sets up a replacement
[content for now]
- cellphone rings
- customer service guy 1 explains that technical service found a possible problem that has to do with the line, not the router, need to hand me to customer service guy 2
- I explain to customer service guy 2 what the problem is, why it is pretty clear that it is a problem with the router, customer service guy disagrees because of tech guy and initiates that the line is checked instead.
- customer service guy 2 finds out he can't check the line by himself due to maintenance, asks me to hold the line while he calls tech support
- customer service guy 2 thinks it may be easier to replace my router, sets up a replacement
[semi content]
- cellphone rings
- tech guy explains that customer service guy 1! told him that he needs to check the line and asks me to wait
- tech guy tells me that the test said that there line could not connect to my port, aks me about my hardware.
- tech guy is pretty sure that a routers leds should't all be blinking irregularly but needs to be convinced that neither restarting nor factory-resetting the router did any good. Tech guy finds out that a broken router actually can keep a line from connecting to port. Tech guy sets up a replacement
[irritated, yet content]
- cellphone rings
[headdache gets worse]
- Customer service guy 1 doesn't believe that tech guy set up a replacement and thinks I must have tricked him somehow. Asks me to hold the line.
- Customer service guy 1 calls tech guy, then apologizes and sets up a replacement
Sorry for the longish absence from the boards (and finding it re designed somehow)
I hope everybody had a better or even great weekend.
Also: Yay Gaberlunzie!
edited for spelling

Thank you.
This is video from the event. I'm am not good at public speaking, so I hope I kept from saying things people took too much offense to. Personally I think I came close at times.. mostly due to being unsure about how to explain things well. Its difficult due to the subject matter. Also i did have issues at times doing a decent answer because we were trying to fit enough questions in.
Advice and criticism is always welcome. I still have yet to listen to myself.. so i havent even watched it.. it just feels weird.

Cthulhusquatch wrote:I went and did explain that I was polysexual and what that is.. so I guess I am no longer just not closeted.. I am now entirely out... having now vocalized it.
Don't get me wrong... that was probably one of the easier questions for me... surprisingly.
Wow! Congrats on coming out of the other side of that event with your mental health intact.

Other than for 3 months this past summer, I haven't been able to live with my 16 yo kitty in almost 2 years.
The first year she had to live with a family 80 miles away when I lived on campus at Montana State.
Since I transferred to U South Florida, she has lived in my parents' garage.. and I've split that time between 30 miles away.. and 20 like I am now.
I miss having her around every night. :(

At the bottom right of each page there is a messageboards link. clicking on that takes you to the root messageboards list. You can navigate from there to wherever you want.
Klorox, please don't leave. I and all your other friends will miss you.
OK, I'll work on not leaving then :)
but after my computer refused obdurately to work for 6 days, I know today's session is posting on borrowed time, and I'll need more time to get Suzan Mk V paid off, assembled and online.

It's early, friend Wei Ji. From my experience some people like to freak out over any mention of change and some people just like to "stir the pot" to watch others freak out. I intend to stay positive and not let the nay-sayers get to me.
Now go, my skittermander army. Spread my love to all! We must keep everyone's spirits up.

well, I'm totally freaking out at the amount of cred I've invested in my PF library that's about to become worthless given PF fanatics will evolve with the new edition, while those who played PF as D&D 3.75 will go back to a modified 3.5 and I'll have no use for those books (good thing I still have my old 3.5 books)

accepts some positives.
This 2.0 thing... I dunno. I was worried what the player base was going to be like after Starfinder announcement at PaizoCon in 2016... now this...
I’m not quite in the same boat, but the news is encouraging me to take a step back. I heard about it while decompressing after a day of really important business at work, so I had made some time to think about silly things, and that time, and seeing the (partially understandably) anxious response already, has let me realize a few other things.
I think in the discussion thread for the first blog post various metaphors for life stages, and comments on how some folks found them alarmingly apt, came up, and that’s very much where I am right now. D&D 3.0 came out about the year I finished middle school (I had discovered my mum's old Basic rulebook when I was still in elementary), Pathfinder some time into my first degree at uni, and now the playtest for the second edition has been announced just when I have huge projects on my personal and professional horizon that will drastically reshape, possibly for good and all, the sorts of stuff I do regularly.
Also, the recent day of really important business at work went well for me in my department specifically, but there are wider organizational issues that mean that work could get really, really ugly soon. [Labour, so politics, so that’s all that this anarchic faerie will say about it here.]
On a lighter note, while I know that the generational issue must be affecting a lot of people, if I’m still around when folks might be worried about the next next edition, I’ll let folks know if I eventually come close to finishing my current degree (I certainly hope I won’t just come close!), get a tenure-track job, or find a romantic/life partner, that sort of thing. ;)
