Our first level game group needs a fighter and a healer. I am having a great time playing a 1st ed D&D Paladin. A PFS fighter with point blank, precise shot and rapidshot, That worked real well. The villians had reach weapons ,so I could use the bow all the time. No melee.
I am thinking a Human Paladin, Archtype Divine Hunter. I think a paladin's bonus spells is Chr based not Int.
So far: Str 14/Dex 14/Con 13/Int 10/Wis 12/Chr 14 Not sure where to put the human +2 stat Chr or Dex. My archer has the 16 dex and the bow and AC bonus rock. Chr is important for a paladin.???
Traits: Dangerously curious magic trait-Use magic devise. I want to use a wond of cure lt wonds. unsure what also: Caretaker(healing),reactionary(initiative +2) or Armor expert. *Better trait choice welcome.
Feats: Point blank, precise shot, rapid shot. Skills:heal, sense motive, know religion. ( Are palidin's bonus skills Chr based not Int?)
Any help is greatly welcome. We will be first level and there has been character deaths, before I joined the group. I need to heal and fight at low levels. I plan to use a longsword, when I have to get up close.

I am a bit confused by the 1st ed mentioning. You are playing Pathfinder, aren't you?
Charisma is a very important stat for paladin. Spells (and thus bonus spells), lay on hands (number of uses), smite evil, save bonuses... I would definitely put the +2 into charisma. You can also lower wisdom this way.
You can use wands of cure light wounds from level 1, as you can use wands of all spells that are on your class' spell list from level 1.
A paladin archer is pretty powerful. Do you have any more specific questions?

Definitely not the traits you want to go with. As mentioned, you don't need to UMD a wand of cure wounds and between a wand and your own Lay on Hands (and spells), you'll likely never use the Heal skill.
I'd consider:
Reactionary (+2 Initiative)
Deft Dodger (+1 Reflex)
Poverty-Stricken (Survival +1, class skill)
Just some thoughts. Also, I really like the Divine Hunter Archetype - its ability to use Lay on Hands at range is superb - but don't discount Oath of Vengeance to get additional Smites, because that's when a bow Paladin really shines. I'd put the racial bonus in Dexterity as Initiative, Reflex saves and accuracy at range will all be important to you, and some of those archery feats require high Dexterity.

"I am having a great time playing a 1st ed D&D Paladin" I am in a game group. That plays Only older eds of D&D. (They hated D&D 3.5.)Too complex.
I am having fun playing a "old school" Paladin.
I joined PFS to play a more current version of the game,Pathfinder.
I am new to the pathfinder game. I have been playing Basic, Human fighters. Simple characters. I only read what is online about Archtypes. I have never used them. I wanted help getting, Current. Play a character with limited spell use. I think a Cleric,Wizard and the new spellcasters (witch) are too advanced for me.

I am asking for help creating a more advanced character. I would like to try a Divine Archer Palidin. I just don't understand the rules. For example:" Precise Shot: A divine hunter gains Precise Shot as a bonus feat at 1st level, even if she doesn't meet the prerequisites. This ability replaces her Heavy Armor Proficiency."
Does this mean that a Human would get 4 feats. 2 for a fighter, +1 for Human And a extra 4th feat(precise shot) from the Archtype?
I am not concerned with the high level skills because I don't get that much play time to advance a character that high.
I did find a gamestore 1 1/2 hours away that has PFS games weekly. I want to start this Palidin and keep the party alive for the first few levels.
So, a Paladin can use a clerical wond at first level? Without any special feats or skills?
I only have the core book and what I can find online. I do plan to buy more books. I am Dislexic and read real slow and often misunderstand what I read, thus all the stupid questions. Thank you to all the nice, helpful people (and for holding back, the rude comments)-David

No, because it's a Paladin Archetype, not a Fighter one. So you get Precise Shot, one Feat from level 1, and one from Human. So 3 total.

Yep. A Paladin who can't cast yet is even an explicit example of someone who can't cast but still use a Wand.
..
.
My more general advice: Skip Wisdom. You really don't need it as a Paladin, I'd go with these for stats:
Str 14 Dex 16 Con 12 Int 10 Wis 8 Chr 16
That's assuming the Human bonus in either Dex or Charisma and entirely legal. Your Will Save will suffer a little...but by 2nd level, your Saves are awesome anyway, and if you're worried you can take the Indomitable Faith trait (along with Reactionary, which I really would go with).
For Feats, I'd grab Point Blank Shot and Rapid Shot to go with your free Precise Shot. Grab Deadly Aim at 3rd.
For skills, I'd go Diplomacy, Sense Motive, and Knowledge (Religion), though Spellcraft is probably better than Sense Motive mechanically.
And for reference, Divine Hunter actually looks pretty solid. Not outstanding, but solid.
