Does this sound cool? (Some spoilers)

Serpent's Skull

So I want to take Leadership with my sorcerer soon in SS, probably at level 9 (we're level 6 now). My sorcerer, Micah, has Azlanti heritage and the serpentine bloodline. What I want to do is build up his interest in the Azlanti civilization, specifically in their magics.

Leadership comes in because I want him to start a cabal of mages who seek to uncover and revive the Azlanti style of magic. We're aligned with the Pathfinders, so getting a cohort and followers from our faction to join won't be a problem, and I'm gonna try to make it a pro-humanity group that will annihilate the serpent folk with Azlanti magics.

Does this sound good? I've read through all 6 books and I don't think theres anything that will make this impossible, especially since we're with the Pathfinders. I just want to make sure it sounds as good to you all as it does in my head.

Also this shouldn't interfere with any of the party members plans either. We've got a paladin, a falconer ranger, and an archaeologist bard. Heck, the bard might even want to be part of this cabal if the allure of the Pathfinders fades.

It would probably be a CG or CN group, since that's where Micah is on the alignment scale.

Wouldn't they also want to kill you (you have the serpent bloodline)?!?

Not if I use said bloodline magic to kill serpentfolk and establish human dominance.

That's not how I would see fanatics behaving. I see a cabal set up to kill another group as pretty fanatical.

The nazi's still killed the jews that tuned in other jews. They just sometimes waited a little longer to see if they were done informing. Some jews joined the nazis to try and hide/survive. As soon as it was discovered they had the 'jewish taint' they were treated as bad as or worse than the rest of the jews.

But you might be able to come up with a work around. I guess I would suggest the cabal not be centered around killing the serpent folk. The primary/only goal would be the re-establishment of the Azlanti magic. If some serpent folk have to go, so be it. But that isn't the goal.

Liberty's Edge

I would just not announce that I have the serpentine blood line. That's a bit of metagame knowledge npcs just don't need to know.

Yeah, that's exactly what I had in mind.

@ShadowcatX: That's definitely an option, but I incorporate the snake theme into a LOT of my spells already, plus I've got my viper familiar. Micah will likely be open about the source of his magic and explain how he will use his gifts to elevate the cabal and humanity as a whole.

Sounds like a fun idea but I don't really understand how this will actually play out. First of all I'm surprsied that you've already read all the books. Are you a player or a GM?

Next, I wonder how you intend to roleplay this thing. Won't the other players feel a little left out if you start doing dialogues with yourself?

I don't want to derail this thread or bash your idea or anything, just curious how you could make something like this work without causing some really weird scenes.

Its all good, no offense taken. I'm a player in this specific game, but I have all the books and have read them because I also DM for a couple other groups. As for roleplaying, my cohort and followers will be acted by my DM, I'm sure, so that won't be too much of an issue.
