Infiltrator Ranger Archetype Adaptation question

The Infiltrator Ranger selects his adaptation (say natural armor +2) and can use it up to 30 min a day in 10 min increments. No problem.
What sort of action does it take to activate?

I have already posted this elsewhere, but as that thread is well over a year old, thought this might be a better place...

Along these same lines... The default ranger gets his favored terrains are 3rd, 8th, 13th, and 18th levels... The entry for adaptation says the last one is gained at 15th level. The errata currently doesn't mention this... Anyone know if this is a typo and should be covered in errata, or if it really is supposed to be gained at 15th?

The default would be, for these, not an action.

But once you need it, then you have it for 10 minutes more.

Honestly most of the abilities could be constant without much problem, and you are limited to one active at a time.

If they want to add an activation time then they can do so, but until then just call it up when you need it,
