Hi all,

As Bill has indicated, anyone who purchases this full subscription gets their hardback signed by himself and me plus some special bonus material. He has also indicated that once ST14 goes up for sale, the subscription option will no longer be available. ....

I purchased this yesterday, but for some reason the shipping was not included in the price. Should I just send it to Bill seperately or wait to be contacted when it is time to ship?

I believe no shipping was charged with anyone who purchased the pre-order as they do not now as of yet what shipping costs will be.

Frog God Games

Bigkilla is correct. We do not yet know what shipping is going to be, so it will be charged later. We've got to see how big this sucker is going to come out to be. :-)

Hey Greg - what are your favorite adventures of all time - and what inspired you to write Tsar?

Geez, DaveMage, that's kind of like a 5,000-word answer. However to give you the short (and incomplete) of it:

what are your favorite adventures of all time--

Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth
Secrets of the Slavers Stockade
Dwellers of the Forbidden City
The Temple of Elemental Evil
Probably others that I'm missing at the moment...

what inspired you to write Tsar?--

All of the above, plus Rappan Athuk, of course. :-)

What about The Lost City?

Can't find it.

LOL. Thanks for that Chuck...

Cool module. One of the best pieces of cover art IMO.

Love it, and probably an inspiration as well. I don't know that it's one of my absolute faves, but definitely up there.

Is there any estimate on when the big book will come out? I may or may not move during the summer and just want to make sure it goes to the right place.

On a funny note, I think I've moved twice since I ordered Razor Coast. :-P

I can give you a firm release date of before Razor Coast...I kid, I kid. ;-P

Our plan is to have ST out before PaizoCon, and I believe we're still well on track to do that Exactly how much before, I don't know yet.

Ha ha, both of those are good news. :-)

Thanks Greg!

So, when do we get the Sword & Wizardry version?

I paid for a subscription, but if there's a chance for an S&W version I'd much rather have that.

I am not aware of any plans to convert ST to Swords & Wizardry.

However, if you happen to have a copy of the S&W Tome of Horrors Complete, some of your work may be done for you. Many of the monsters in ST are in there and creatures in that tome might be used to replace others.

Just subscribed to Slumbering Tsar and downloaded the PDFs released so far. Now just waiting on that last one and the hardback.

Are emails sent when new PDFs become available or how does it work?

How will shipping work with the book?

Yeah, I was really just kidding. One of the nice things about S&W is that it's a simplified enough system that, as long as you had any relevant monster and NPC stats handy, it would be EXTREMELY easy to do your conversion "on the fly" running directly from a PFRPG product (or any other type of fantasy RPG product).

Hats off to you Mr. Vaughan for producing what I am certain will be a long-remembered and often-run extraordinary mega-adventure.

So guys... when are we going to start work on Sword of Air?

Chuck Wright wrote:

Or possibly see if you can get permission to do Wrath of Orcus.

Frog God Games

If I'm not mistaken, though, Sword of Air would be the companion piece to Slumbering Tsar.

"Wrath of Orcus" sounds like it needs epic rules, so maybe we should wait until Paizo gets that ruleset out...

:)

I think Wrath of Orcus was a piece that Clark was planning on doing that involved mass battle type rules but then 4th edition happened and poof.

I may be wrong though.

Congratulations to Greg on getting the final installment out! This is an epic achievement - I only wish I had the players (and time) to try it! I really look forward to seeing the bound version.

Frog God Games

Yeah, but I think it's safer to go with stuff that Bill-original concepts (Slumbering Tsar, Rappan Athuk, Sword of Air, etc.)

Frog God Games

Prototype cover for "The Slumbering Tsar Saga" hard-cover mega-adventure can be found at this here linky-linky.

You're welcome. :)

Fantabulous! Cannot WAIT for this.

I really like the blue-on-black color scheme on the cover lettering...can't wait for it to arrive.

I'll know it's coming when I see the mailman using an elephant to pull the wagon it's gonna take to carry this monster :)

Frog God Games

Only 11 days left...

I will send a separate email to bill for shipping. I am likely shipping priority large box. I want to see if 2 will fit in the box before I ship, or if its 1/box. This REALLY matters for overseas customers.

Basically I will send an email to all subscribers and put a shipping bill button up--I will ship the book as soon as shipping is paid. I am going to wrap the hell out of these things so there is no chance of damage, as you can imagine, I am not overprinting very many due to the individual unit cost.

Chuck has it done through book 6 (just got off the phone). Should go to press April 5 or so--and will ship late May.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Chuck, that prototype cover is AWESOME - I really like the look of it.

And Bill, thanks for the info/updates regarding shipping and what not. I pre-ordered this (last March I think) along with the Tome of Horrors Complete (which I have long since received, thank you).

Really looking forward to "Slumbering Tsar" Saga.

Now... about "Rappan Athuk" ... ;)

I am giddy. Big-time congrats to Greg and Co. for bringing this bad boy to light!

So is it late May that the cooler full of ice and Gatorade will be upended on Bill and Greg in the Frog God Games locker room?

Hey Bill, when you send the ship notifications can I add a copy of Swords and Wizardry? Should fit in the same box for the same shipping cost? (To Australia if that matters)

Frog God Games

I'll send an email to all subscribers on or about April 1 on shipping charges--just reply and include in subject line something like "please add books"

Please note, however, that there is NOT a Swords & Wizardry version of Slumbering Tsar. This is the one FGG product that I am aware for which the conversion has not been made. Bill may change that at some point in the future, but as far as I know no such conversion is being done at this time due to a separate print run for a limited distribution not being feasible. Sorry about that. :-/

Not a problem. I want it for a different purpose in any event. I have acquired a very large number of pre 1989 modules and no longer owned the rulebooks to run them. Now I will have the core rules!! At a far cheaper price than the upcoming reprint as well!

Okay. I thought you might have meant a copy of Tsar in the Swords & Wizardry rules. I just wanted to make sure there were no misunderstandings. Thanks!

I have now sent the final bonus material for layout. At this point all of the Tsar big book has been turned over for Chuck to make it into something beautiful. I have nothing more to write on it. Today is the 3,590th day of working on Tsar (give or take). I'm gonna' go take a nap.

I just woke up and downloaded the bonus material.

I have to stop passing out on the grindstone. Greg keeps doing it and his nose can slice AIR now!

One day, Kthulhu and I will sit in a bar, having many drinks, laughing and making fun of Chuck, who will be sitting there too, all the while Greg will look on, not approvingly, and we'll all turn around and see Bill laughing maniacally with his Santa hat on, because he just killed 6 new people with S&W.

this is what I think of at work. dont fly in airplanes....

I see the March 20th update found its way to these messageboards.

Here's an update that got put on talesofthefroggod(dot)com that may not have made its way on this site:

Bill Webb wrote:

March 12, 2012

The Frog’s have returned from Central America intact with the possible exception of our livers. We saw great things, did fun stuff, baby frog (6 years old) learned to surf, and we even got to watch a sea turtle lay eggs on a beach at night. Saw some of the scariest bugs and snakes imaginable (look up terciopila…very scary). Momma frog had a 7 inch long, 2 inch wide grasshopper with a 12 inch wingspan land on her back..she hopped about 10 feet in the air. We even got to see Will Smith filming Men in Black 3 (and one of his crew actually get bitten by a terciopila!).

But, being back from the beach, we are back at work. I got 4 new levels of Rappan Athuk written, Greg finished Tsar 14 and is final editing the bonus chapter as I write this. Orders will be cut off for the signed/limited edition Tsar on March 31. Paizo will have unsigned books for sale soon, also in limited quantities.

I will be sending out shipping information to all subscribers soon. I am hoping I can get 2 books into a large priority box. Shipping is going to be killer for me (only 4 books per case box on the pallet). This will be the LARGEST RPG BOOK EVER MADE!

So in other news:
1.
Tsar 13 and 14 are at the printer and will go for sale soon, pdfs will get posted this week

2.Northlands 4 is at the printer
3.SNS 2 , Castle Baldemore is in layout
4.Northlands 5, as well as several other ONS/SNS titles are coming soon
5.Rappan Athuk is 75% converted, and 14 new levels are written as drafts. This epic will go on sale May 1 (or so)
6.All current orders will be packed and shipped this week—I only got home 19 hours ago, so bear with me!

To reiterate: Last chance to preorder for Slumbering Tsar is March 31!

P.S. Surfing the web to locate a photo of a terciopila. :)
